Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaThere was only 1 young guy at breakfast time, who had good people skills, he made us feel welcome and great. Also the cleaning ladies were nice. Reception and other day breakfast time was bare minimum. No yes, please, have nice day etc. Just sign here, document, yes write all names etc. Nothing extra:( just formal shallow words
Spa was pretty small, 1 pool, 1 bubble bath and 1 sauna. It was relaxing and ok, but some might have needed more from a "spa". Breakfast was totally awesome, tasty and plenty full for different tastes.

FinlandIn overall we enjoyed our stay in the hotel and were happy that we picked it and not one of those massive, slghtly soviet-style spa hotels by the beach area. Some minor renovation would be needed here and there though, not a big issue.
unique atmosphere and rooms, beautiful garden, nice indoor pool, free parking

Estonia- The hotel rooms and interior is worn out. In our initial room we got, the conditioner wasn't working, we slept with 27 degrees inside (hot weather days), whereas windows couldn't open in that part of the hotel. For the third night we were kindly offered a suite in the historical part of the building, where you can open the windows to let fresh air in. The room was nice, but bathroom was smelling bad, mattress in the bed was old and not suitable for a good night sleep. - Variety of breakfast was very good, however meals that were supposed to be hot, were lukewarm instead. Also, service by the personnel at the breakfast room was out of hand. 3 young ladies couldn't really manage to fill up the supplies. Went to bring more fish, however failed noticing, that eggs and tomatoes are also finished... Either not motivated or not trained enough to provide a good service. - hotel needs a refreshment to keep up to standards it is meant to have by the looks, location and nr of stars
Location is very good, spa in the hotel is good

LatviaA view from the window on 3rd floor was to some kind of ventilation equipment on the roof. On the other hand, a room was silent and we had more privacy.
Location, close to the beach, castle, Saaremaa Veski and the great fish restaurant KuKuu.

FinlandThere was some hiccup with the cleaning because the room was never cleaned during our 3-night stay.
This was my second stay at hotel Arensburg. We chose it again for our stay in Kuressaare because hotel is really nice, clean and centrally located. The small spa is a big plus.

EstoniaI did not understand why the elevator was locked, so one could not react the 1st floor on 26 February. I am disabled person and can therefore only use the elevator. I wanted to use the sigar room, but nothing came out of it. Of course, I am perfectly well without sigar, but the question is still larger. What if I had come later to the hotel? Then what - only stairs, and probably the main entrance. And what about the wheelchairs and the parents with prams? Stairs again? I understand that the hotel wants to have the restaurant booked, but the access to the elevator should be guaranteed.
Breakfast was good and the service and attitude overall great.

LatviaOur apartment as well as the spa and dining area are in a dire need of refurbishing. Lot’s of drywall repairs that need to be done, new paintjob needed, lot’s of places where mosaic tiles were missing. Our apartment had a cracked sink and peeled off veneer from the cupboard under the sink, threads were coming out of the worn out bed covers. The blankets were quite small and thin for a winter season.
The place has a great aura and provides lot’s of leisure activities to choose from. Also, it’s at the very centre of downtown.
