Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

A well located hostel in Quito historical center. They have all the necessities for a nice stay - good Wi-Fi, hot showers, and an affordable price.

PolandQuito colonial old town is pretty but not safe after the sunset! Not just around hostel, everywhere - during the day there are many people and police, in the night it is completely deserted apart from beggars and criminals, all shops and restaurants closed early, usually maximum at 7pm. After that one should really stay in the hotel. Surrounding districts are even worse - strange people offering drugs or smoking them in the full daylight , beggars bothering people for food and money. Be careful...
Nice vibe, location inside the Quito old town. Hostel in the old building with strange structure - small stairs, floors and cellars on different levels, rooms around small patio. Friendly staff. WiFi working OK. Safe inside, to get in or out one needs to ring a bell and wait for staff to open door made from steel bars. Supermarket 50m away, around the corner.

Czech Republic- The bathroom smelled a bit bat after one day, I think water was running from the toilet a bit - The kitchen is very small, so if there are 2 people trying to make a food it is almost impossible (especially the kitchen was very often used by personal making there food making impossible for guests to cook because it is very small.) - The noise from the other rooms
- The personal was very nice - Good location - The internet was good

United StatesBooking.com has all kinds of misinformation posted about this place. After I booked a large double twin room Booking pulled the old bait & switch & offered me a smaller room but w/a "city view" (for an extra fee) that apparently wasn't available when I made the reservation. So, we had the privilege of paying extra for a small, interior room with a smaller bed. Booking also claims that the rooms have "free cable" but cable is only available in the common room. It's a nice common room, though. Plus it's a hostel so why does Booking even feel the need to show that as a room amenity? There was an open grill/vent in our bathroom, that led up to the open roof, so the bathroom was very cold. Unfortunately, since the water doesn't get much past warm, it was even more uncomfortable. The building wide smoke alarm went off & woke us up in the middle of the night, both nights. 1x the first night and 3xs the 2nd night. Then we were awake for several hours, afterwards, both nights. Not a great combination with altitude sickness. Lol!
My husband & I decided to spend my birthday here, so we could see some of Quito as a stopover on our way to visit family in the US. It's very clean and secure. The family who owns it is helpful and nice. They have that extra level of security because they personally answer the door, in person. The value of the breakfast is good: Large delicious roll, plain but tasty omelet, coffee and some blanco queso. The 1st day we received fresh whole juice, too. Not only do they provide all linens, the bed has a really thick blanket in addition to the sheets and cover. So, we were nice & toasty. Plus the bed was nice & firm. The bath towel was large and fluffy, too. I also loved the beautiful, older wood floors. The owners also went out of their way to help us w/a few phone calls w/our driver & an uber eats deliverer. They also gave us a map & went over several places on it so we knew where we were going.

United KingdomGuests should note that not all bedrooms have an external window. I had read in advance that the rooms were not very sound-proof due to the materials used for constructing dividing walls, so I brought ear-plugs and therefore this was no problem for me.
Incredible value for money. Comfortable, clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location in the heart of the historical centre, so it is easy to walk to the main sights. There is a common area for eating or socialising, and guests have access to a small kitchen, fridge, microwave etc.

United KingdomThe water didn't come on in the shower or sink but after I mentioned this it was sorted (I should have told the great staff earlier). I wish the entry into the bathroom was an arch! The walls are very thin and any conversation next door intrudes - ear plugs and headphones a must.
For the price you can't beat this place, amazing, and any criticisms should bear this in mind. Everything is great, the place even has ESPN/Star sport showing EPL and 6 Nations rugby. My room was really quiet, no traffic just the charming ringing of church bells. Wifi was great (eventually!)

United StatesShared kitchen is very small, having more than 1 person makes things very difficult. The rooms facing the street are very noisy, definitely need earplugs. The main door is always locked and has to be opened by staff when you go in and out. They are fast about it but gets annoying after the first day.
Great location near all the tourist hotspots. Room was clean overall and the beds were relatively comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful.
