Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The Marriott was a fabulous 5* tourist-resort type hotel, rather than a business hotel. Our stay was unexpected, as we had to leave our Avenue of the Volcanoes hotel early and at short notice due to altitude sickness. The Marriott sorted oxygen for our room and we were very comfortable and felt safe and well taken care of. We didn’t get the chance to use the pool, but it looked lovely. Breakfast was great, in particular Fernando who looked after us really well.

This is an exceptional hotel. The service and care is like no other. I would like to thank the staff for making it a memorable stay. The room was fabulous, large in size, had a bath and the l'occitane products were a lovely touch. The house keeping was excellent and care and thought went into every detail. I had views out the back onto the pool area. Breakfast was delicious with alot of choice and included an omlette stand. I would like to thank Fernando for taking care of me during breakfast time. The hotel has a beautiful foyer with alot of seating, fabulous decor and a grand piano.. My spa experience was wonderful. I really enjoyed using the facilities, especially the outside hot tub.

AustraliaIt's only a little thing, but I wanted a simple directory of the hotel. I felt the QR code version didn't give a good overview.
I really loved this hotel. Everything was done well, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food great, but I think it is the huge bunches of roses and gorgeous art that gives it a great ambience. I felt really comfortable and at home, which is not always the case with top end hotels, which can feel a bit cold sometimes.

United StatesWe loved our stay here. The service in the hotel was outstanding. The car service was very reliable and easy to use. Jonathan at the front desk was so helpful. Our waiter Henry at the hotel lobby resturant greeted us every night and was excellent. The cafe server remembered our order every morning when we stopped by for coffee. It was one of the best hotel stays I have had in a long time. Five star service and affordable. They went over and above to make sure we had a great week.

Despitw multiple emails and several calls and their agreement to pack the items in a box so that I can arrange to have a courier pick them up at my expense, they have gone silwnt. Although this was caused by my own stupidity, I expected much more from JW Marriott.
