Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Spainthe staff is not very friendly and helpful (specially the front desk and customer care employees, that are the important ones when you have an issue to solve - waiters and barmans were really nice instead). the pool area is too noisy in the evening, so beware of the sea-view rooms (that have the nicest view unfortunately). I specifically asked for a quiet room and did not succeed...
the beach is really beautiful and the hotel facilities are ver nice

Dominican RepublicTo long to check in, staff need to be a bit more organized. There was only one bar to order drinks from the line will get to long. A variety in the food will be great for the buffet section and snack bar, the food can get repetitive. Add more restaurants and bars to get drinks from. The room I stayed in needed to be updated. This hotel has potential to be better.
I love the staff they were great

United StatesThe price was very odd, they charged me for one room for two people one price but charged me a higher price for one person and “one bed” this was such a big issue for me because I planned that in advance, I tried calling to see if I could get some help, but no one have me a straight answer I’m disappointed. Also, there buffet was very basic and not a lot of options, you can get lost easily.

The staff was great. They always were available to help and never had an attitude. Wifi was good but it cut out in the bathroom.

United StatesThe bathrooms are outdated and they do not look cleaned. I had to wear rubber sandals to take showers. Did not feel comfortable using the bathroom.
My wife and I stayed for two nights. The location is good. You can walk along the beach for lonnnggg distance. The bathroom sink was clogged and we had to wait a very long time until they sent maintenance to take care of it. Seen like there is no one to inspect the hotel rooms before they have guests in them. This seen to be normal in big hotels. Rooms inspections seem to be non existent.

United StatesI didn't like that nowhere online it mentions that you can't swim in the ocean. It had a red flag all the 5 days that we were there and according to staff is always like that. The beach was dirty with a lot of seaweed as well. This place it is just a good option for parasailing! The rooms were outdated and things looked worn out. I had a problem with the toilet 3 times, a problem with the cooling system that led to a lot of water leaking from the wall and AC unit. The cleaning service were okay and attentive. We checked in right after 3pm and "The Snack Bar" was the only option available. There were cold and old pizza, cold burgers, very messy fruit plates and nothing else. Very disapointing for first impression! The buffet was a little disapointing as well. Not enough traditional Dominican food options. The best days on the menu were Wednesday and Thursday lunch time (dominican plates). The menu is mostly European/Canadian. To make it worst there were cats everywhere on the resort! Even inside the ceilings of the Restaurants; fighting with eachother and making noises. Some people were okay with their presence and were even feeding them off the tables BUT a lot more other guests were annoyed and disgusted! The pool floor was dirty with sand all 5 days that we stayed there. The jacuzzies had cold water and I fell into one of them thinking that the first step was at least 1 foot deep to get in, but instead was like 3 ft down. I hurt my knee very bad on the first day of our stay and couldn't walk well for the rest of my stay. I had to get a knee brace delivered from a local farmacy and like that I was able to walk a lillte and enjoy myself. I will pay the consequences of this fall for a while since my leg is swollen and in a lot of pain. I'll have to wait to see a doctor when I return back home.
My family and I stated at Viva Tangerine Cabarete from 4/29 until 5/3. We liked that it was right at the beach and there were no noise during night hours. We loved the service at the PhotoShoot especially the carisma and talent of Fernando. Although, he packages were super pricey and we had to bargain with them to be able to buy at least 1/4 of our photos. The Mexican and VIVA Restaurant had very good and fresh food. The VIVA took over two hours to complete our dinner experience. The Mexican had a more cheerful vibe and the kids really enjoyed it! It is definitely a very cheap family resort; you get what you pay for!

United StatesFirst of all the property was far from everything. When we arrived we paid for two queen beds but instead were given a king bed because they thought my friend and I were a couple. They said they had no more rooms available. The hot water did not work in our room at all. We finally called the front desk on night three. We were told it was a known issue in this room. The nightly buffet was subpar. Lack of options, food was repeated majority of the time. There are not enough tables for everybody in the main eating area. Housekeeping kept waking us up at 8 am to do room service. Lastly we were told at the resort to not drink the water from the taps. They said they would provide us with water bottles in our rooms. Even though we went to the front desk to ask for water they said they only deliver it. They would also only deliver two at a time. They were very stingy with water bottles.

United StatesThe food. food was repetitive. You would think that staying in Puerto Plata the cooks would know ho to prepare green bananas, yuca and rice. Rice was under cooked Dailey, Yuca was over cooked and some times burnt, Green bananas over cooked or under cooked depending on the day. Sausages in the breakfast bar was over cooked and some time burnt ( I have pictures). The best food was Dominican day the goat was well seasoned and so was the chicken but the food was cold because the equipment to heat the food was in poor condition. I have never stayed at an all inclusive restaurant that served chicken gizzard on the main menu not once in 7 days but twice. The liquor was the cheapest money can buy. If you are a non smoker stay away from this resort, thank goodness all restaurant are non smoking. The only non smoking is at the bar and when it rain the smokers take over that area and the non smokers have to leave because management or staff will ask them to leave. We complain a few times even went and got a manger without results. The pool at the water level was very dirty and was being scrubbed while everyone was in the pool. When the smell of Clorox hit most of the people got out of the pool. Our room was the best part of our stay. Other than our room this is a very low budget resort and I mean low.
The kitchen staff and the bar staff. The grounds were well kept and beautifully and was very satisfied with our room and the maid that maintained our room.

United StatesThe service was poor. Staff were not friendly. The rooms were outdated. You had to request for towels in the rooms every time they cleaned. They only provide you with bath towels no hand or face towels. There's no vup.in the bathroom to rinse with. The pool color is teal which makes the pool look cloudy and not clean. Everything is outdated. Nothing was to my expectation. I've been to many, many all inclusive resorts by far this is the one that least met our expectations. They only have 3 restaurants you can make reservations for. Italian, Japanese and Mexican. They close 2 restaurants on the same day providing very limited options to dine. We had to leave the resort twice to go out to dinner because the restaurants were either booked or closed and the buffet did not have great variety of food to please the guest for dinner.
The cleaningness of the rooms were good. The food was very limited but is was good.
