Manager Janine is simply wonderful! She arranged our boat trip to Caye Arena and is a wealth of information!

This kind of rooms might not be for everyone. We had many mosquitos and occasionally a small lizard in the ceiling. Also, on Saturday night, there was loud music outside until well past 2am. Internet didn't work on the rooms (temporarily). We had some issues with water pressure also but nothing that bother us too much.

Janine was an extremely nice host! The room was spacious and very cute - we loved the canopy beds with the mosquito nets. The bathroom was also very nice. The best thing about the house was it's location, just on the other side of the road from the beach and just next to plenty of restaurants and bars (Punta Rucia style of course, nothing too fancy). The breakfasts at the beach were very good.

Staying at Villa Rosa was a wonderful real DR experience. Janine is a warmhearted and wonderful host. We also enjoyed the room, the food and the breakfast. At my husbands birthday the staff put a lot of Beautiful flowers in our room and there was a birthday surprise at breakfast. Thankyou❤️

It might be the nicest place in town, but it's not a fancy place. Don't come if that's what you're looking for. But the accommodations are steps from the beach, they are clean, and they are cute. For my families needs, they were perfect

This place is 100% about the lady who runs it and the people in the town. The accommodations are fine. Nothing fancy but perfectly in line with the price. But the experience and the care we received was wonderful. It felt like we were staying with a friend. my kids held her baby, we played with the dog. We got to know the towns people as they walked by. It was just an all around great stay

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpfull. The room was great especially for anyone who is looking for an authentic Dominican experience. They propose a local tour boat that I strongly recommend. The village is awesome, arrive early, enjoy the sun set and the local village night life, then wake up with your morning beach breakfast ! Thanks for everything !

We stayed just after new years, and the location of Villa Rosa is directly in town - whilst this makes an attractive place for accessing the beach, shops and restaurants - it can also get very loud! One afternoon whilst we were there the music was so loud, locals seemed ok with it - but too much for our tastes.

It was lovely staying here in a small fishing village, the breakfast's in the morning were a real highlight and the host was fantastic telling us all about the town and helping to organise trips and activities. Once again - the breakfast on the beach was amazing!

It was very loud all afternoon for 5 hours was loud music with bass that shaken the room, not the peaceful escape we looked for, plus every morning we woke up from the rooster at 4:30 am

Bring Mostique repellant with you, although the mosquito nets worked well.

We were a little unsure about choosing a Hostel, but the experience easily meet our expectations and the service and ease of everything went way higher than hoped. Villa Rosa has recently acquired their own boat to take you to Cayo Arena, so it was very easy to book and the timing of the trip was excellent. We were also able to keep our rooms until after our return allowing us to shower and change before departing this sleepy backwater in DR. Punta Rucia itself was a charming little town, look out for the Ravioli - definitely worth a try.
