Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt has cable TV, but be aware that most channels are all in Spanish language. I think only a couple were actually in English. Bring some earplugs; even though the A/C provides a little "white noise", you will hear the motorbikes and scooters going up and down the beach road early in the morning.
Had room #12. Hotel has a full breakfast included every morning. Pool/garden area was very nice and kept clean. Rooms were clean/bug free. Air conditioning worked well and room had a ceiling fan. Off-street parking available. Rooms supplied with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Also had bottled water in the small refrigerator. Hotel has a great location at about 100 yards from the water. Walk to the left and there are quite a few restaurants and bars along the Playa Las Ballenas. Walk to the right and you're about a 10 minute stroll from all the shopping, restaurants and bars of the downtown Las Terrenas area. Just past the downtown, about a 20 minute walk along the beach from the hotel, is Playa Punta Popy, with more restaurants and bars. A small colmado is right across the small side-street that the hotel is on (as well as two great restaurants Empanadas y mas & Restaurante Plaza Delfin) and a larger "convenience store" is right on the corner.

United KingdomIt’s a budget hotel but it’s hard to find faults when the staff went out of their way to make sure all was good and comfortable. Would stay again.
Wonderful stay in a cozy hotel with lovely staff. Great value for money in a wonderful location, just around the corner from the beach. There were paintings from local artists on display throughout the rooms, which was also a nice touch.

Canadano complaints.
Loved this hotel. Great, clean room overlooking the pool. Blanca the office manager was very helpful and nice. The included breakfast was great. 20m walk to the beach and beautiful beach in both directions and a water tap outside the entrance to rinse your sandy feet after walking on the beach. Taxi stand right at the end of the street. Within walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants. 2 restaurants across the street from the hotel and a small grocery store. The pool was beautiful and always clean and had fun lights at night, which the kids loved. Price was right. Housekeeping staff and breakfast staff were very nice too.

United StatesThe power went out for a spell and the AC went with it. The cable was very unreliable as well, but it was a weak signal with old equipment.
The location was right on the edge of the heavy beach area with the big rentals and on the edge of the downtown area which was immersive enough, but still within walking of anything. I walked the beach at morning and night in just a few steps which was awesome. The grounds and atmosphere were peaceful and accommodating, I wish I spent more time at the pool. My host, mama, was very gracious and pleasant...I felt like family..

United Statesthe bed was hard and a bit lumpy. it aggravated my back which i was having some issues with. also, the internet at the hotel was a hot mess. it had like 4 different areas and it seemed as though two of the zones always needed to be reset and you would not be able to connect. constantly losing the connection. that was very aggravating. work needs to be done on the internet at hotel coco. also, there was a sign on the inside of the door in spanish that said i could be charged (if i got the interpretation right) up to 80% of my room rate for a/c as electric was very expensive. i did not like having the idea of a surcharge hanging over my head when i checked out.
the location was great, 100 yards from the water. the hotel while a bit older and shows some wear is ok, everything worked so that was a big plus. the bed i thought was not that comfy but i was having some back issues due to travel and was very sensitive to the hardness or any lumps. the breakfast, which was included in the price of the stay, was great. they would make you whatever you wanted and it came out custom to order and hot. i had no desire to try and better the breakfast i got. the pool was nice, water was warm and plenty of chairs and lounges to be found. also, shade was available if you did not want to sit out and burn. plenty of restaurants within walking distance so i never got bored eating at the same place everyday. i felt that for the money, hotel coco was a great bargain
