Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBreakfast choices not as good as the promotional photos. I was given a room next to door leading from lift to one wing: other guests tended to bang the door so would have appreciated a quieter room
Location close to station and old town plus late check-in excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Good value.

AustraliaThe room was very small especially given the asking price. Bathroom is poorly designed. Once the shower has been used everything is wet. Lighting is very localised and not all that effective.
Proximity to railway station.

AustraliaThe room was comfortable, However it might be time to update the plastic shower curtain.
The hotel was 90m down the road from the train station. It was a short walk to the HC Anderson house and houses of his time. I was warmly welcomed and the foyer has a warm ambience

United KingdomGreat & helpful reception staff. Next door to main train station. 5 minute walk to town centre. We got the budget double room with bunk beds. Very small, clean and simple enough for one night transit stay. Quiet room also.

Slovenia- Room was quite small. It was definitely adequate for a solo traveller, but it would be quite cramped if all three little beds were used. - The bathroom was very small. Again, it was OK for solo, but having to use the bathroom after someone showered would be a bit hard.
- Nice breakfast, with great selection of breads. - Location was perfect, right next to the train station and very close to the city center. - The hotel was neat and clean and easy to navigate. - The room was quiet and the hotel in general were in a quiet neighborhood.

Czech RepublicThe bathroom was very basic but perfectly functional for a slim person. People with a bigger body struggled in the small space of a shower. Or so I have heard. A mini fridge to store milk for the tea or a small snack would be great to have.
I had a Captain room which was spacious and practical. Absolutely perfect for one person. The bed and bedding was clean and comfortable. Table was big enough to work on. Room was quiet. I appreciated the electric kettle to make tea. There were many lights and lamps. That was definitely above the usual hotel standard. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The position of the hotel right next to the train station and in the close proximity of all tourist attractions, the bus station and tram stops was just perfect. E.g. it takes 17 min by tram to get to the SDU.

GermanyThe shower is not well designed. I have showered on trains and ferries. It works, but you need a slanted floor with a little step to keep the water at the shower and lead it towards the drain. Breakfast could use more vegan options like baked beans and oat drink.
Initially book for the location and looking clean (which it was), but I also liked the “cabin” style of the rooms. Like ferry cabins or spacious night train compartments. I found the room spacious enough. Can’t relate to other comments about it being tiny. It’s not a suite, just a normal room. Staff was friendly. Window can be opened. Comfortable bed and towels.
