The location is really the best thing about this place. It is literally right underneath Neuschwanstein Castle, and we were able to get to the Tegelberg Cable Car to the mountains in 5 minutes. The hotel itself is nice enough, slightly more expensive than other stops on the romantic road but the location itself is pretty spectacular. Breakfast was nice enough, mostly breads and cereals and coffee and juice. Staff were helpful, and we managed the language barrier fairly well!

The only minus for us was the strong smell of the laundry softener used for the sheets of the bed. Pretty bad when you have a perfume allergy as one of us has. Hotels should avoid this and most actually do.

Great location, especially when one is in room 1 with a balcony from which one has a direct view to the castle Neu Schwanstein. Room was great, staff was very helpful, breakfast was good and in accordance with what one may expect from a continental breakfast, free parking direct behind the house (which saves euro 10 one would have to pay for the public parking lot.

The location and the view. The castle was visible from the bedroom. They also allowed us to park our car till late after checkout when we visited the Castle.

Limited private parking, but there is plenty of other parking nearby. The driveway was completely iced over in the winter and actually quite a hazard to get from the car to the door especially with luggage. Creaky floors but again, it’s an old classical building so to be expected.

Dated and more casual but was to be expected. For what it is, it was quite nice and completely fulfilled our needs as a place to spend just one night. It does indeed have a wonderful of the castle and it’s one of the few hotels in the area at the base of the castle that was open in January. The owner was very nice and everything was clean and we had everything we needed in the room. The water pressure was actually just fine, which was a pleasant surprise.

the location is wonderful. Right on the edge of the English Garden and at the path entrance. 10 Min. walk around the lake to the beer garden. The garden of the house is charming and on a small waterway. the house was historic and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful.

Not a fan of the European feather duvet. Too heavy and hot for my taste.

Owner was very accommodating. The breakfast was very good and only cost (1) Euro. Highly recommend this place. The location was just a few minutes walk from the center of activity making it quiet but still easy to access all local activities and sights.

Beside from the room not being able to see the castle, the WiFi is extremely slow. There was mould in the bathroom and on the roof of the bathroom. The sheets have small holes in them and looked like mattress liner, the pillows were extremely soft to the point they were flat. Further to this, there was no water in the room, no coffee, etc, just a kettle, which was a little confusing. Breakfast was a set breakfast, meat, cheese, bread, and an egg. There was no fresh fruit except for rottening apples. I was disappointed with this.

The facility is very close to the castle and the little town. The young lady at reception had only worked there for one day and has limited knowledge of the area, but was very pleasant and tried to assist us when she could. The room was tidy, but you can just see the castle from our balcony, nor from our room it was a bit deceptive.

Maybe an email with instructions about the baustelle on the road. I got a little turned around trying to find a detour.

Breakfast was perfectly suited to start early enough to allow me to make it to my tours on time. The location is absolutely perfect. The staff were also very lovely.
