The beds were a bit too soft for us, but that's personal. The room was quite warm.

The staff is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location is great, away from the tourist area in a small area with terraces, shops and a view over a small square.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

We received a very warm welcome on arrival. My wife was not feeling 100% and the kindness shown by Benamor lifted her spirits. That same kindness and consideration was shown by all the staff we met. Our room overlooked a very popular square and happy sounds drifted up to our room making for a lovely atmosphere. We’ve never experienced such a wonderful window seat as in our room. Wide and confortable room, new fornitures, window facing a peculiar city squadre, a lot of bar nearby where you can have a drink or meal. I request only for towel changes instead of full room cleaning, and I received two vouchers for a free drink at the bar: really appreciated.

This hotel went beyond our expectations. The location, the staff, the rooms, the view, the service, everything is impecable and beyond what we thought (and read) it would be. Front desk: very friendly staff. They welcomed us with a tea while we waited for our room to be ready. The room: 10 points with an exceptional view to the cute square in front of the hotel. Walking distance from the city center. Breakfast: supreme. We could even get some sandwiches for our way back home and they also gave us a voucher with a complimentary drink (tea, coffee, beer) to take at any time with us. And the cherry on top: they gave us a souvenir (mug) to take home with us. For sure an experience we will remember! Thank you Rafaela hotel for the beautiful experience in Heidelberg!

This is a very minor point but I want to mention it because it might be relevant to others as well. We were in room T02, which has a double bed and an extra sofa bed. There was no separate door for the bathroom. It was an open space with a sink, a shower on the left with a glass door (not locking) and the toilet on the right with a milky glass door (also not locking and not properly closing, without separate ventilation). This created several inconveniences. First, travelling with a small kid, we were going to bed later than our child but had to use our phones for a bathroom light after our child was asleep because otherwise it was way too light in the room and our child was waking up. Second, the glass door of the shower was exactly opposite the front door, so when my husband was opening the door to come in, the neighbours saw me showering. In addition, my child could always walk by and see me showering. Also no-one could use the toilet at the same time as they will also see the person showering. Lastly, the toilet did not have its own ventilation and the door was not proper so you can imagine what kind of problems this creates. Anyways, we would totally come back to this hotel, maybe we will just ask for a room with a separate bathroom. This small inconvenience did not ruin our overall experience!

Breakfast each morning was incredible! The staff was very accommodating and we greatly appreciated the facilities, the location and everything that came with the room. It appears to be newly renovated and was all very family-friendly, which was a great relief as well. We will absolutely go back!

The location is excellent, on the south side of the river, it is within easy walking distance to Altstadt, the castle and the main town. The rooms are very nice and the staff were excellent, very helpful and accommodating. Very knowledgeable about Heidelberg and the sites and facilities available.
