Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilWe could not make the room very dark and the lights from the cars passing in the street made our sleep not so good. Although some other rooms had a window to make the room dark.
The room has a lot of space and it is very cozy.

United KingdomThe restaurant is not open in the week and this is not stated on booking.com. Its a shame because the food on Sunday was excellent. Booking.com should state if the resturant is open or not.

GermanyThe manager needs to ramp up on cleaning and generally maintenance of the place. The apartments on the second floor are very old and should be repaired. The first floor looked a lot better.
We chose Huberhof for its convenient location and close proximity to Tegelberg, Forggensee and the Füssen area. The breakfast was good value and the rooms were - generally speaking - nice.

United Kingdombreakfast was tasty but not buffet , you had a fill in a form to choose items , in theory ok to stop waste , but it means you don’t know what your getting if your not very knowledgeable in German food , also a note at the bottom of the form saying that “if you order too much there might be an extra charge “ seems very petty , we also asked for an extra coffee sachet for the bedroom and we’re told your only allowed one each per day 🤷🏻♂️
very pretty location , very traditional, good quality food in restaurant.

United StatesI loved the property
The hotel is in a historical building older than Neuschwanstein castle but it’s so lovely And clean. The staff is really nice and the whole town has a very friendly summer camp vibe. Schwangau is so much less touristy than Hohenschwangau but you can still see the castle from most points in the town. You can walk around the lake, have a campfire at night, sit out on your balcony and watch the horses run around in the mornings. It was great!!

United States1- Breakfast: besides being expensive, the system is ridiculous. We have to fill out what we want, in a form, each guest, and wait to be served. Even each slice of cheese has to be chosen and the amount set. It is written in the form that if we order anything that we don't eat we will have to pay extra. We have to ask each time we want, for example, a (very small) glass of orange juice. Each small portion of jam. Each bread. Each slice of ham. Each anything that is written in the form (we have to mark (to select and write the amount of whatever we want)). The gentleman says he doesn't mind to serve us at any time. But the staff is limited - therefore, we have to wait for their availability. That's why, obviously, ALL hotels in the world have a buffet system instead, so that the guests can see what they want and can serve themselves at any time. 2- The room gets hot on hot days - it has no air conditioning. 3- There's no rack to place the bags. We had to put (and manage) them on the floor.
The gentleman at the reception was nice and helpful.

GermanyBreakfast without buffet table. Meed to choose each item from an absurd list including quantity of slices of each thong. I never saw such list / system anywhere else in the Universe. Room without air conditioning, without a table and without a frigobar. 3 days without cleaning service. Extremelly expansive for the offered "benefit".

GermanyDefinitely, the way of serving breakfast. It was also the perception of other tourists, since this way was unexpected and (to my opinion) inaproppriate. It may have some advantages for the hotel owner, but on the long run I doubt this may be a good practice to establish.
I found it inaprropriate the way breakfast was served: you need to check on a list what you would like to order without knowing the size of the portions you will being served. Hence, it made very difficult to make sure one is ordering far too much, or you need to ask for more. I would have expected to have an usual swedish buffet, where you can choose what you would like to have and how much. All in one, breakfast was qualitatively good, but not I've expected, especially by price/portion size ratio. The rooms are quiet (unless a neighbouring room occupant turn the TV set too loud) since the hotel is in a village-like location.

Location is great. By the lake and a short drive from town. Plenty of parking there. Nice restaurants. Hotel was mostly quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very convenient for the two famous castles in the area. You can see them once you go outside. Overall a very positive experience.

GermanyCouldnt fault it. Cant comment on breakfast as didnt try.
The family who attended to us were just delightful. The hospitable and friendly nature, especially the warmth of Marcus who made us feel right at home. We ended up staying for dinner both nights as the burger was outstanding w fresh beef prepared onsite. Separately the lake view from the room was a treat and close by to walk/swim and 5 minute drive to the main village to access attractions, Neuschwanstein and Alpsee
