Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe property would be lovely for a longer stay, but then other facilities such as a coffee machine, fridge, microwave would be necessary.
The room was very spacious with a nice view over the river. The restaurant at the property (dinner and breakfast) had a nice atmosphere and the food was very good.

SwitzerlandAn improvement would be somewhere suitable to park our bikes overnight. The space offered was in the corridor by the restaurant toilets, which worked out fine. Luckily it seems we were the only ones with bikes.
Comfortable room and bathroom, both above average I would say. Good food and breakfast. Evening meal on the spacious terrace overlooking the river, pretty setting. The staff were helpful and friendly. Overall in my opinion a high standard for a “Landgasthof”.

United KingdomGood staff who were extremely helpful. The food, dinner and breakfast, was brilliant. The room was possibly the best we stayed at during our road trip. When we were driving through the village we were a little concerned as little or no commercial activity anywhere - don't worry when you are in the building you should be happy.

United KingdomThe walls of the house were keeping in the heat, so it was a bit hot for us, even though we were kindly given a room facing away from the sun. The hotel sits right by a road, which is quiet in the evening/night, but noisy during the day.
Beautiful big bedroom with fantastic mattresses, crisp linen and a vast bathroom. Mosquito net on one window, so one can leave it open at night. Fan in room provided, which was thoughtful and necessary as it was very hot. There's a restaurant with a terrace and breakfast is available, which looked very nice, but we did not have it. There's parking in front and behind the house. The parking behind the house required a bit of walking.

United KingdomThis time I was given a room downstairs in the basement (with regular windows) but the room is nothing like the nice rooms I have had before upstairs. The room had hardly any surface area to place things, no hooks on the walls as they do upstairs. BUT main frustration was shower room, very small/congested feeling and water leaks on to the floor, actual bathroom door could not close - looks as if the door has expanded due to humidity.
Location, staff, breakfast and some of the rooms UPSTAIRS are excellent.

BelgiumMaybe a bottle of water in the room :)
We would definitely recommend this hotel. We stayed here because we wanted to do the 'Roman walk' in Kordel. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the beds were comfortabele and the breakfast, which you can get for €9, was delicious with great coffee (which can really make or break my day, so big plus :D) You can have dinner in the restaurant. Even if you want to have a small meal... I ordered a small salad with some fries to give you an example :) While eating you have a lovely view on the parc across. Go and take a walk in this parc in the morning! It's lovely. And the most important thing: Our dog was welcome! Not only in our room but also during the meals.

BelgiumJust a few small things: no towel hangers in the bathroom; no wifi (?), and we struggled to keep the balcony doors closed (the wind kept opening them). Also, in a spacious room like this one, a small fridge and a set of cutlery would be a nice addition (it was not promised though so it is more of a suggestion). For dog owners: dogs are allowed but you pay extra 15e for the cleaning costs.
The view over the river is great. Beds are good, bathroom is pleasant. Heating works perfect, you can get to the right temperature within half an hour. Big enough balcony, the room size was extraordinary (we didn't expect it to be that big). A restaurant downstairs is a plus.

We stayed in this hotel to hike in Mullerthal! It's ideal because it's right next to the border (10-15 minutes by car). The hotel is really charming. We also ate very well for very reasonable prices. The rooms have been recently renovated. Just be careful if you go there now, you have to have the booster (third dose vaccine) to have access to the hotel or do a test there (we didn't have a covid test with us so they gave us 2 for 2€ per test, which is really cheap)

GermanyEverything was great.
Friendly and helpful all-lady staff with a family feeling to it. A safe place for solo traveling women. Clean rooms and bathrooms with hot water, clean towels. Comfy bed, bug enough for 2. Spacious rooms. The deluxe bedroom had a personal small balcony with a green grass path leading to the park and river. Nice and peaceful view. Really delicious meals at the restaurant, not that many but delicious vegetarian options, reasonable prices. A quiet, safe and all around nice place basically on the boarder with Luxemburg. You can walk to Luxemburg (3min). Possibly a cheaper option if you want to travel in/to Luxemburg. 15-20 Min. car ride to Teufelsschlucht, Felsenweiher and other tourist locations.
