To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

PolandThere was a personal issue, I seem to have problems with dusty or old places, often get allergic like reactions etc. There was a problem here too for me so I wouldn’t come again due to that, but I have to point out that I am super sensitive.
It was quite as I expected it to be (I read the reviews before and knew the rooms are quite small). Good value-for-money, good stay to be if you want to be near the trainstation and in the center. Aldi (or Lidl) just nearby and plenty of places to get some middle eastern food. Very convenient. Great facilities in the room too!

PortugalThere was no A/C in the room so, to prevent from overheating, the windows needed to be open but, since the hotel is located in a very central street, it can get extremely loud. The room bathroom could use some repairs and modernization.
The room was nice, spacious and modern looking. There was also always water, coffee, tea and gummy bears available at the room, which was a very nice gesture. The hotel itself looked like it went through a thorough modernization process that really paid off because the hotel looks really nice. The lobby had fresh water and cookies available which was also a really nice touch. Breakfast was good and with a nice variety. The location is exceptionally central.

AustraliaThere is a lot of construction work in the area, and as a solo traveller I felt somewhat uncomfortable and ill at ease due to the neighbourhood. It would have been helpful to have a porter to assist you either your luggage.
It was very clean and well presented and in a convenient location. The room was a good size and well appointed. Loved the coffee machine as well!

MalaysiaNo AC or fan in the standard single room but staff sent a table fan after request. Some travellers had mentioned this before but nobody seemed to have stated that we could request for a fan. A bit dusty.
Great location. Less than 5 mins walk from the Main Train station. Value for money. I paid €67 for a standard single room. Small but comfortable and practical room. Good shower with hot water. Good water pressure. Working hairdryer. Free drinking water. Free coffee (coffee machine in room with 4 capsules). Working mini fridge. Mini safe deposit box. Staff were reasonably friendly and helpful. Free lemon water in the lobby.
