Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe were probably expecting more space than we got. When we looked at the booking we thought it would be larger. It was too small for 4 people.
The location was great and the staff were helpful. The beds were also comfy.

ChinaCheaper parking place is a little far away, say, 15 minutes' walk. We walk to take the car and come back to the hotel for taking luggage. Of course you can pay more to park the car just beside the hotel.
The location of the hotel is good. It's just by the rail station and the lake. From the window,we can see the station and the trains. The room is quiet. By driving, it's not easy to find the hotel because its sign is small. You should look for the big sign of McDonald's. The hotel is just by the small alley to a big garage. I drove the car to the garage and didn't see the hotel. When we took the suitcases out of the garage. Oh, the hotel is just in front of us. The girl at the reception desk told me how to drive to the cheaper parking plaza. Breakfast is okay, bread, butter, jam, ham, coffee, fruit...... Walking to the lake and the landmark only take 5 minutes, crossing the street.

GreeceSome of the staff could learn to speak better English. The price is a bit expensive for what it offers.
Modern hotel, right at the heart of the city, next to the railway station and a large parking. Very relaxing experience and comfortable rooms. Friendly and polite staff.

New ZealandStrong perfume sprayed in room. Really unpleasant. Staff were lovely and understood. However these aerosol perfumes are recognised now to contain substances that are harmful to humans even those that like the smell. A clean room does not need to be and should not be sprayed. Most hotels do not use these sprays any longer.
Location excellent opposite main railway station. And old town. Close to supermarkets Warm welcoming staff Spacious single room. Clean. Comfortable bed pillow and bed linens. Lovely outlook over to roof garden. Windows opened wide for ventilation. Good sound isolation to exterior. And good neighbours quiet internally.

GermanyWe had a 2 room apartment booked .Our sun and girlfriend where not able to come with us in the end and we were not able to be re-located to a double room only - so we had to pay the price for 4. But more importantly we had not booked the room with breakfast but also were declined to offer us one out of courtesy - having had to pay lots of $'s more for the unused room
We arrived happily in Konstanz and had an easy check in

ItalyThe bed mattress was definitely not comfortable and the bathroom inside the room is very small and with outdated facilities. The shower stall leaks water outside, wetting the bathroom floor.
The room size is quite spacious, the hotel location is very good in the city center, just in front of the lake Constanz and the train station. The breakfast was very good, especially the fresh breads.

EgyptMattresses were really soft and overly used.
Location is absolutely perfect, and if the reception team liked you then you can get a room with the lake view. Breakfast is basic but does the job. Coffee is okay, they have Jacobs coffee maker so it tastes a bit like instant coffee. Wifi is fast!

IrelandThe room was too hot (it might have been possible to turn down the heating manually, but it is often not the case in these old buildings, which are often centrally controlled). However I did not try, so I cannot be sure. There was some confusion about when the reception was open until (I saw 8.30 pm in one message/instance but somewhere else said 9pm). It was a little stressful for me to only realise that reception closed early when I got an automated message about it shortly before our arrival). It could be made clearer much earlier in the process on booking.com that there is a keysafe option for those arriving after 8.30 or 9pm, and that this needs to be requested by the person reserving! I see now that the latest time for check in on booking.com says 8.30 pm but somehow I missed this when booking. There was a lot of noise, but this was because of Fastnacht/Winter Carnival. In the summer, the rooms could easily get very warm with the windows closed, so best to request a room higher up if you are noise-sensitive.
The staff were very friendly. The location opposite the train station has its benefits, and the double/triple glazing was very effective during our winter stay, and cut out most of the noise of the street party down below (this was a noisy night as it was Winter Canival/Fastnacht)! I think that on a normal night a closed window would have kept most street noise out, as they were such good windows, especially if we had been higher up than floor 2. We could see a little of the lake from our floor, and the views would have been even better up higher. The place was super clean. The breakfast was varied and delicious, with an automatic machine for top ups of coffee/tea etc. The beds were comfortable, the triple room was spacious, and the ceilings in our room were very high, which gave a lovely feel. Upn request, we were able to arrive late (but see section below for some comments on this!). In February 2024, the room was good value, but I see that summer is much more expensive.
