Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayI am really disappointed with the hotel staff at this hotel. The check-in process was fine, but our deluxe room had a non-functional AC. Since my partner has both allergies and asthma, we couldn't leave the windows or balcony open. We were informed that the AC couldn't be used, and unfortunately, the lady at the front desk was not helpful at all. She simply said we cant use the AC during this season. Additionally, we had booked parking for one car, but the lady in the counter rudely insisted that we needed to pay for parking for two cars, even though we only had one. She didn't bother to check this up. They also forgot to charge the city tax at check-in and later asked for it by check-out. When I tried to explain the situation (about the parking) over the phone, she cut me off. We have stayed at numerous hotels over the past few years, but this is the first time we have encountered such poor service. It's quite disappointing. Five to six of our family members stayed there at the same time and experienced the same issues.
The balcony is spacious. The check-in was quite pleasant. The hotel is centrally located and close to dining options.

GermanyWe chose this hotel because it have a very reasonable price and a very high rating (8.2 point when we booked it). But as soon as you came in to the hotel, you can smell that something is off. I can't really describe it, but it smelled bad. In the Lobby, in the elevator, and also in the hallway of the hotel's room you can clearly smell something that is not good. When we reached our room, the smell is a little bit better, but the bed was so dirty as it was not cleaned before. we then decided to clean the bed ourselves because it was already night when we arrived and there was no phone in the room, so the only way to request a room service is to go all the way to lobby by yourself. Multiple of lamps in our room were also not functioning. Then every night, like after 11 p.m., you could hear slightly a thumping bass sound that I think came from a nearby club. The air conditioner was very tricky to be set, it turned on and off by itself. Several times I woken up because i felt to hot.
The Staff were great. I don't have problem by checking in and checking out. The checking in process were very fast and comfortable because I think that they already prepare all of it before I came to the hotel. The Bathroom is clean enough and the hot water running smoothly.

SpainAlthough I kept close the window at night, with the street noise wouldn't to be able to sleep. Although, the bed is good, as are the pillows, I perceived an unpleasant smell. The blinds on the windows were very dirty, with the rainy day it looked disgusting. The pipes make a lot of noise when used.
WiFi good velocity. Nice staff. The location is very central, about 10 minutes short walk from main train station (Hbf Bremen). The hotel have a policy to reward that you keep your room clean, and that there is no daily towel change, very interesting from the point of view of sustainability.

United StatesWe are a family of five, so booked two rooms, right across the hall from each other on the 4th floor. It was quite hot in Germany during our stay and no place has A/C, so to cool off a room you open the windows. Even on the 4th floor, the windows opened fully. So we opened our windows in both rooms to cool things down so we could sleep comfortably. At midnight, our kids (ages 18, 16, and 14) fled their room because it was "infested" with insects. I went into their room and to my disappointment my kids had not been exaggerating. The room was swarming with hundreds of small flying insects. At first I feared they were mosquitoes, but I think they were just gnats. The hotel's neon sign is at the 4th floor level. One of the letters was literally on the exterior wall next to the window in my kids' room. The light attracted huge swarms of gnats. Naturally, with the window open tons came into the room. I swatted dozens before realizing it was impossible to clear them all. I went back down and explained the situation. The staffer came up and seemed to find the situation rather amusing. I asked for another room. The response was that gnats are "not dangerous," so there was no need for another room. The best he could offer was a fan to keep the room cool, since the window could not be left open. Of course gnats are not dangerous, I said, but with hundreds flying around the room, they will be very annoying. Sleep will be virtually impossible. The staffer said he would ask his manager if we could get another room. He said he would let us know. By this point it was 12:30 am and as we were leaving Germany the next day, we had an early departure planned. I stayed up for 30 minutes waiting and then finally went to bed. My kids grabbed pillows from their room and slept on the floor in my wife's and my room.
The hotel is in a good location, just a couple of blocks from Bremen's central train station. Not sure how old the hotel is, but it was clearly in the process of being renovated when we were there (the first floor, for example, was in process while we were there). We stayed on the 4th floor and all the fixtures and furniture were clearly brand new. It was quite nice. When we checked in, the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful by giving us a map and showing us where we could do some shopping, park, etc. All in all, I think the stay would have been quite good, had it not been for the swarm of gnats that flew into my kids' room.
