Since we have been there for many times, we have seen some reduced small items compared to before. There is no coffee machine in the room and we didn't find any slippers and robes. Also, although these were extra, before there used to be small extras like grapes and small Dom souvenirs. I'm not complaining on these, but they were small extra touches that made the hotel extra special which are now not offered.

Excellent location as it is very near the Koln Dom and all central amenities are walking distance including the train station. Breakfast was excellent and the room very comfortable. The hotel has been refurbished in the last few years as this is the 5th time we went and it now looks new.

I chose superior rooms, they were smaller than what I thought. Missing kettle in the room. Had to go down to reception to get a coffee.

The breakfast was very good. Close to all amenities such as the church which was a beautiful sight. A walk to the Cologne trade fair.

There was only one pillow for each person which collapsed to nothing. Ridiculous to have to make a request to the manger. No tea or coffee making facilities on arrival in the room. All hotels have these facilities. No iron in the room. Very poor when you have to ask for some decent pillows, and the rest......This is not a cheap hotel. It was very disappointing. The gentleman serving the drinks in the afternoon spent too much time talking and amusing people and not paying attention to other people waiting for drinks.

The wifi was weak and disconnected frequently. The pillow was not very thick and so did not provide great support throughout the night.

Check out was terrible, long waiting and only one worker that needed to take the phone and telephoning taking reservations while in the middle of a conversation. Also the breakfast was pretty expansive 15€ p.p. For a not big choice. The things they had where fresh and tasty (only the frozen watermelon not)

The cleaning of the room could be improved and the tables at breakfast area are a little bit squeezed.

The pillows were very worn out, too soft. I had to ask for a second pillow to get the necessary support to sleep but even with that it made no difference.

Fantastic location, all the major attractions are in walking distance, good breakfast at the hotel. Many restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

The hotel took 2 payments from my credit card. I checked in with their app "Hotelbird" which asked me for a deposit. On arrival and on departure reception staff assured me that my deposit would be refunded. However, the hotel is refusing to repay my deposit by accusing me of making 2 reservations. This is ludicrous, I have shown them documents that I only made 1 reservation. They still owe me 569 Euros and are still refusing to pay. There were no coffee making facilities in the room. The room was quite small and only had one chair. This is Ok for a short stay,

The location is wonderful. A short walk to Christmas markets, Cathedral, river, a wide variety of shops and the old town. We enjoyed meals at nearby restaurants and markets. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. There were plenty of chargers in the room, 6 I think, which was very helpful. Mineral water was supplied every day.

The beds were acceptable, but the cushions were uncomfortable, akin to lying on a blanket. The shower felt a bit cramped, and the climate control lights were bothersome in the dark. Additionally, the narrow gap between the somewhat small beds and the individual blankets didn't contribute to overall comfort.

I appreciated the prime location, a key factor in choosing this hotel. The picturesque view of the Dom and Christmas market added to the charm. The self-service breakfast was satisfying, with the only downside being that the sausages were cold.

Check out is 11am. Every other hotel we stayed in on our 3 week trip had noon checkout. Lighting in the room was so, so, so, poor. I’ve heard of mood lighting but this was ridiculous. There was no overhead lighting. The bed part of the room had two tiny spotlight sconces. The room was tiny. We had to use the small desk and armchair for our suitcases and the window ledges for our carryons. Hotel is not accessible for the physically disabled, as there are stairs you have to climb to get into the hotel from the street. We were travelling for 3 weeks and had large suitcases and carryons. I could not lift my suitcase up the stairs. One elevator for the entire hotel and cleaning staff.
