I don't think I completely understood that there was a shared bathroom. (I'm fine with it, but my husband was a bit uncomfortable.) Somehow I missed that this was a B&B. Also, I didn't realize this was just 4 rooms in a B&B setting and so I now understand why arrival time would actually matter because Sabine had to come to the apartment to greet us. (Most hotels have a person at the desk as long as you arrive at a reasonable time. Because we were late, we could tell it was inconvenient. Of course we apologized, but still felt badly..) The email request for check in time is very "professional" so it looks like a form letter that doesn't really matter. Maybe the information on Booking.com should give a bit more detail about the property (shared bath and community breakfast) and why arrival time matters (especially for Americans who aren't familiar with B&B etiquette)

Sabine has a beautiful place and she has been doing this for long enough to be really good at it. I was impressed at all the details that she goes to in order to make guests comfortable. (We had our own cabinets in the bathroom, water, roses and chocolates in our room, and she knew it was my 60th birthday so she gifted us with a bottle of sparkling wine!) The location is fabulous and very close to everything I wanted to see in Berlin. The breakfasts had more than you could want and they were delicious. We had a great conversation with fellow guests over breakfast. I would HIGHLY recommend her place.

The only thing which I concerned was soundproof. Actually, I’m not sensitive so I was okay to stay to hear closing doors and creaking sound from wood floor. If you aren’t too sensitive to sound, it doesn’t matter at all.

The hotel owner was so hospitable and friendly. She guided everything we need. And listening to her anecdotes about her actress experience was interesting and memorable. Breakfast every morning was perfect and fabulous. It’s never dull and astonishing regarding the quality of food, different variety which isn’t same every day. Having a chat with other guests was also fascinating experience during the breakfast time. The location of hotel is convenient to go to shopping streets and a big park next to the zoo. The nearest train station is 8 mins away so it was good to travel to tourist attractions in Berlin. Last but not least, it was thankful to leave our luggage after check-out time. Overall, I’m satisfied with staying in the hotel.

Very nice interior and drop of luxury by arts, furnitures, fresh flowers and living candles. Delicious breakfast served personally by Sabine, classical music in the background and shared breakfast table with other guest. What a great surprise for lonely rider like me. Nice, unique rooms, tidy places, stylish bathrooms you'll never find in standard hotels. Personal and kind careness for Sabine, great hints for the days spent in Berlin. I'll absolutely choose this also next time when visiting Berlin.

The bathroom is a private room, but opposite the room in the corridor. It is not ensuite. But that's not a big deal.

Luscious breakfast directly from the hostess; very personal and hospitable service; the owner is an extremely gracious host; the 'romantic' room I had was spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent for the old West Berlin.

Not clearly advertised from the outside of the building so trust the address. By nature, an older building so a little road and train noise. Private bathroom, across a communal hallway but robes provided and no real issue.

Wonderful location for the U-Bahn, city and local restaurants, just amazing host, stunning room & building, excellent breakfast and very reasonably priced honesty bar!

We loved the atmosphere created by Sabine, along with a very clean residence, sighted in an area close to KaDeWe and many tourist attractions

Wow, What a lovely time we spent staying at the Boutique Hotel Mittendrin. Sabine was the most fantastic host, always able to assist and provide her knowledge of places to visit and see. The room was very very clean and the breakfast every morning was different, providing fresh coffee, cheeses, meats, breads, eggs, omelettes and many varieties of dips and condiments, not to mention cereal. The experience of sharing breakfast with other guests is a really fantastic start to the day, with many different guest from all over the world. For us its Sabine and her energy that made this a wonderful base for our first venture into Berlin. 100 % recommended.

The ambience of the accommodation, the kind personality and friendly attitude of the hostess and especially the breakfasts in a family kind of atmosphere around the long table. Breakfast was amazing and I had great conversations with other guests. Even though I missed breakfast on my second day because I had to leave early, the staff left fruits and biscuits on my table which I could take with me, and allowed me to pack a sandwich. This was very thoughtful and is a testament to the amazing detail and care that was extended to all guests. I felt right at home throughout my stay here. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel is centrally located, and within walking distance of shops and restaurants and grocery stores.

We had the Modern Room, slept 2 adults and 2 big children. Breakfast very good and beautifully served, Sabine the host is very pleasant, creates a nice atmosphere of home. Squeaky floor in my bedroom. But it is an old building. No space to work in the bedroom, if that's what you need, but large table in the shared living area.

Great location just off Ku'damm. Unique B&B decorated with personality and attention to detail. Small single room, nicely furnished, very comfortable bed. This room looks into the courtyard, so very quiet. Spacious and spotless shared bathroom (shared with one other room). Exquisite breakfast, beautifully presented. Eating with the host and the other guests at one stylish table.

A perfect place to stay in Berlin. We were welcomed by Sabine with a glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. A truly beautiful room & bathroom with so many thoughtful touches.
