Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyVery small bathroom inside the room. Quality of the beds - enough for one or two nights but if I would stay longer I would prefer a better mattress.
Good price for the size of the room. Super nice staff. Great location at Wittenbergplatz/near KaDeWe and Kudamm. Subway within walking distance. Many bars around the location. We only payed 10,90 Euro for the breakfast. Coffee and Tea for free the whole time.

PolandHowever there is a major problem with plumbing in the building (the building is old) - in the shower water was backing up from the drain, which was rather disgusting - staff tried to fix it but with no results. And there is an unpleasant smell from the pipes. I was there in may so it was not a problem but there is no air conditioning and the room (3-person ensuite with balcony) is situated on the sunny side of the building so I wouldn't reccommend it for summer.
It's really hard for me to give a score because almost everything was great - the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were clean and freshly renovated, we had a nice balcony, there is a kettle in the room and there is always coffee and tea available in the reception room. I liked the wooden staircase as well.

NorwayUnfortunately, our room was right above a bar, where people sat outside smoking and partying, making it difficult for our kids to sleep. Every morning around 6.30, the road outside was cleaned by use of a large cleaning truck, so we all woke up pretty early. The rooms towards the backyard are probably much quieter, more appropriate for families with kids
Beautiful room with high ceiling and a great size, obviously an older building in the heart of Berlin. Near everything, both by foot and by u-bahn, and lots of restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity. Large beds, and lots of space

Everything, except the bed (duvet too hot and heavy!!) and the heating, which was too hot (with two hot pipes running right under the bed). A part from this the room was super big and clean.
