Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe desk personnel we found not very professional, friendly and helpful. Simple questions on what kind of Metro / Bus tickets to buy and where, or how best to do a Harbor tour were not so well answered. We found out ourselves. Note: at Breakfast the personnel was very kind and friendly.
Arcotel Onyx is an excellent hotel at the start of the Reeperbahn. You can walk into the street and surroundings instantly, while the noise and nuisance (that an area like this simply gives) is not close nor annoying. It has an nice lounge / bar and the rooms are comfortable. The beds are great. The hotel is attached to the beautifully designed 'Tanzende Turme', where the breakfast is served. Internet / wifi is available, not always that strong. If you like comfort and want to be close to an entertainment / nightlife area, this is a good place to stay. The Hotel is on walking distance from the Subway Station St Pauli from which you can go anywhere quickly. Hamburg is a fascinating city. Day tickets go for 7.50 E pp and can be bought at dedicated machines.

TurkeyThere was even not water in the room .Breakfast is kind of weak . I had had many better hotels around the Germany. Breakfast saloon is out of the main building . Price was too high for that mind of facility. Room air ventilation should be much better.
Location is extremely nice . Very close to Ubahn, Reeperbahn, exhibition Center. Room was quite big.Hotel workers and staff are so helpful, kind persons.

United KingdomIt's hard to find anything wrong but if I was to be picky the single beds could be upgraded to two doubles as the room is more then big enough but the single were still very comfortable.
The rooms were big and modern with everything you would need. Staff was very friendly, hotel was safe and clean. Nobody could get in the hotel at night unless you have a keycard and during the day keycard needed for the lifts so very safe.

GeorgiaThe bathroom was a bit small and the location...well it depends on what you are looking for. It can get a bit noisy in the neighborhood late night (room and hotel itself are quite) but did not bother us too much.
Staff, beds and food was very nice. Bar is good and open till late. Location is very convenient if you are there for party! The hotel itself is big, new and clean

United KingdomThe shower is not great as it is placed on the wrong wall - going across the bath rather than down the length
We had a large room (3 friends sharing) Plenty of space for us, spare sofa bed made up and was comfortable to sleep on. We arrived early and it was no problem to leave our bags there while we went out for walk. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room (coffee pods were great and delicious). Love that the toilet is separate to the bathroom. Didn't get to use the hotel bar etc but it looked very nice and the whole vibe of the hotel was great. Will definitely stay there again when back in Hamburg

AustraliaWe were a couple and they gave us two separate duvets instead of one. The duvets were way too hot for the Summer ( during the time we were there the weather was in the high 20s) and they didn’t have a normal quilt or cover to replace the duvets, so sleep wasn’t as good as it could have been. Room cleaning was very basic and they didn’t replace our towels. No amenities whatsoever - no coffee, no tea, no water.
Fantastic location, right at the start of the lively part of the Reeperbahn. The room was really quiet, though and it was spacious. Also very clean. Separate shower and toilet, which was great and nice bar on the ground floor. Perfect for exploring Hamburg and enjoying the Reeperbahn nightlife. Convenient parking right below the building.

SwedenI have stayed here many years ago when I felt the exclusivity of the hotel was much more relevant. This time it felt they have lost attention to detail and I didn't think it was the same great value for money as it was last time. Super location if you want to spend some time at the party area of hamburg since it's just at the entrance of Reeperbahn but yet very quiet to get some sleep.

GermanyWe arrived at appx. midnight. We rang the bell of the hotel entrance from the garage within 10 minutes - nobody opened. Then we went to the main entrance. The door was closed and we waited 10 minutes one more time. When check out we spent much time waiting for hostess to prove if our price we have paid yesterday was including the breakfast. The breakfast area was very overcrowded.

MoldovaJust a suggestion to provide a bottle of water in the room upon check-in. Not everybody is used to drinking tap water, even if it is good.

MontenegroI like everything about this hotel. It's in a great location (1 minute to the metro station, less than 10 minutes walk to the harbor, 15-20 minutes walk to the city main center), and there is a garage just near the hotel with an elevator to the rooms (22€ per day). The staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms have comfortable beds, and the mini bar in the rooms offers coffee, juices, and beer for free (we have a junior suite reserved). Great experience, in every sense.
