Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeautiful Hotel, pristine cleanliness, pleasant friendly staff, lovely breakfast, the decor in this hotel was something else, absolutely beautiful. Accessible room was huge with access via french doors to it's own large outdoor patio seating area. We would definitely stay here again The zoo is easily accessed with complimentary admission provided by the Hotel. Overall, First Class accommodation with pleasant, friendly staff.

NetherlandsThe zoo.... well Zoo, they should call it a museum. The museum of the empty animal houses and expotition of the working man with the opputunity to walk into a wild excavator. we went here during our roadtrip vacation because we wanted a zoo and it was on route, but the zoo was very disappointing. Luckely the city centre had a great shopping centre to fill our time. But because we liked a stop in de middle with a nice zoo we probably won't be going here again. If you put this hotel somewhere else we would come back, but the zoo isn't worth it.
Nice renovated hotel at the entrance of the Zoo.. It is very new, clean and very nice staff. Breakfast was simple but great and fresh. We liked to have a beer in the Bar at night when our kid was sleeping and that was very nice with good beers. It was a little weird they didn't have a restaurant with a chef ( you could order pre prepared meals for your room) but the staff recommended some great restaurants in town. We went to stumm's brauhaus! That place is great! (TIP!) All on 5 min. Drive.

GermanyFor some reason, there was no one available at the reception before the closing time. I couldn't even access the reception anymore on Saturday after 05:15 PM. And it was supposed to be open until 06:00 PM. That's UNACCEPTABLE. I could have ordered food for the evening, but since there was no one, that was not even an option anymore. This needs to change. As an hotelier, you cannot afford to ignore your own opening hours. I also greatly missed: - TV in living room - fridge in hospitality cupboard There is enough room to put up a second TV on the living room wall and also enough room for a small fridge in that cupboard in the foyer. These appliances are a minor investment since there are only 2 suites in this hotel. This would definitely level up the quality of anyone's stay in the suites.
- Nice renovation - Free entrance to the zoo - cool wallpaper in the suite (401 - 3rd floor Birds world) - simple, but good breakfast - cute toiletry bag for our toddler I had an unforgettable experience. I heard the lion's roar in the middle of the night echoing in the hills. That was awesome. I was shocked at the beginning because I wondered what is was at 03:35 AM. I wasn't expecting a lion's roar in the middle of the night. I quickly realized it was one of the lions (beautiful African lions by the way). It was strong, loud and powerful. It was just awesome. I heard it several times between 03:35 AM and 04:45 AM. I was able to record it. It happened again during the day, but it wasn't as powerful as in the quiet night. In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion "doesn't" sleep tonight 🤣🤣🤣 No need for me anymore to stay at a Safari lodge. Don't expect too much from the zoo though. It's okay-ish for very young children. I think the lions need more company. They are brothers. They need to start their own families. The zoo should exchange one lion for 2 lionesses. These are my 2 cents. But I am far for being an expert in this area.

United KingdomIt might have been useful to know from the booking site that food was available in the bar...we didn't know until we got there by which time we had bought stuff .
The hotel was located on the perimeter of the zoo. The building was beautifully decorated and superbly clean .. when we checked in we were given a room overlooking the car park so we asked for a different one on the other side of the building..no problems at all to change it ..we could hear the animals from the balcony they sounded like lions but they weren't...

GermanySo you are right next door to the zoo. So you hear all the animals at night. Then there is no air conditioner in the rooms. So, if you open your window to the air in your room, you have all the bugs in your room. No flies net on the windows. Also, it said a soundproof room that's not true. I heard everything upstairs next to me and outside. When taking a shower, the water went outside the shower on all bathroom floors. Hallway room light is not able to turn off as liked because it's a sensor light. Also added I booked the room first for me alone then added my husband what was no problem but when getting in the room there was only 1 set of towels and pillows and blankets. The restaurant is okay, you can tell that the food is fried and microwaved. And absolutely NO internet access with the hotel wifi and no bars with the location. But the best part was I paid 117€ for 1 night for myself with breakfast and 35€ extra for my husband's with breakfast. Had to ask at the reception for beding and towels. On our way home, I received a call from the hotel reception, staying that we left the room a complete mess and that they are charging me extra for it. I will never go there again. We even fixed the bed and hung up all the towels. After saying that on the phone, the reception said there were no towels left and that we stole those. By the way, there is English is really bad.
Free parking availability.

United KingdomAwful rubber sheets that were noisy and sweaty. A huge dust ball in the corner of the room. A ridiculous motion sensor that turns on the lights when you move. Internet wasn't working. Bathroom floods whenever you use the shower, such a terrible design for a hotel room, really hated it.
