Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhen I was there, the price was a bit steep by provincial Czech standards (though this may have been to do with some cultural and sporting events happening in the city that week). Cleaning ladies weren't very good at replacing shampoo / shower gel (though when receptionist was alerted to this, she quickly found me some shampoo). A bit far out of town, though, as noted above, it's an easy connection by tram.
Pleasant hotel with reasonably sizeable rooms. Breakfast buffet was quite varied and changed every day, which was pleasing. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is a bit out of town, it's within ten minutes' walking distance of a tram stop with direct service into the city centre and the two main train stations.

A clean, friendly, comfortable hotel offering excellent value and a very copious breakfast, located out of the centre but on bus routes and near tram lines.

Australiabreakfast was ok but the room where it was served was tiny and off the main restaurant despite the restaurant being empty. felt strange to be sent to the back room. Despite this, our stay was great value for money.

PolandCheck-in hours should be without restrictions, after all, it's a hotel. However, the check-out time should be extended to 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM, not just until 10:00 AM.
I recently stayed at Hotel Akord in Ostrava and I'm extremely satisfied with my stay. The feature that stood out the most to me was the variety and quality of food, which was simply exquisite. I really enjoyed the breakfast. Moreover, I noticed that the value I received greatly surpassed the price I paid for the stay. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel's location was convenient for exploring Ostrava. All of this made my experience positive and I believe that Hotel Akord is a place worth staying at.

LatviaLocation is in neighborhood where not much happens, far away from any activities, however, as a transit stop-by, perfect.
Breakfast was marvelous, as we had special request to checkout at 06:00, even if the breakfast was officially from 07:30, the food for us was already prepared in take away bag!

SerbiaThere are few cracks and stains on walls of room and restaurant at the hotel, but nothing too much, just a few, but some maintence is a recommendation! Big, and I mean A BIG flaw is that most of the staff dosen't speek english, or they speek just a few simple words and sentences, but not even close to the standard! (thanks to the exceptions). Also, there were a lot of signs, nad even a booklet in room, but all of it is in czech, witch is fine for "home guests", but for foregners, it's a real headache! Staff will make sure to understand what you want, just have in mind that there are not really a way to comunicate with most of them... (Again thanks to the exceptions)
Really nice place and really nice staff! Hotel is in quiet part of the city, so there is no unnecessary noise from the outside! Staff is really friendly and they always have a big smile when you see them! :D Overall nice place if you don't want to be near city centar and a lot of people, but still close enough so you can walk your way to most of the things. The room was cleen, with fresh sheets and towels. Bathroom was cleaned and sanitized right before our arival! Brekfeast was nice, a lot of options, from fruits, to meet, breads, and coffee! And every day you can expect something different. Hotel offers a self check-in before arival, so we were in our room in a metter of minutes.

FranceThe breakfast is a bit poor, I think that was the first time I saw a buffet with croissants being sliced to give the impression there's more food.
Very helpful staff despite being non-English speaking, helped me store my bike safely inside the building and carry my luggage. Big room for a single room.
