I’m writing this now I’m back in the UK and I just wish I was back, a wonderful place. There was nothing I didn’t like.

We stayed at the jungle tent for one night as we had arranged to do the Bioluminescence tour with Franco. The location is just perfect, it’s at the end of a long track and is surrounded by forest. The jungle tent was a really good size and it was a short walk to the showers and toilets. The wildlife around the tent was great, we saw a variety of birds, frogs, crabs and howler monkeys. We did the Bioluminescence tour in the evening which was excellent and a really good social with Franco, his assistant and another couple. Afterwards we returned and Franco and Wilma lit a fire for us and joined us for a drink. The reception we received was very warm and Franco and Wilma are lovely people and can’t do enough to help. In the morning we walked to the beach, the dogs joined us and showed us the way. This took around 20 minutes. The beach is wonderful, it’s large and empty. We saw red Macaw there. The visit felt very authentic and a bit of the touristy track which we enjoyed. I highly recommend it.

The only thing I didn’t love was the ecological bathroom but I guess it’s ok if you are in a remote location.

    Cozy and different

Nothing to dislike, it was very clean and comfortable!

Kindness of the hosts, who took us out night kayaking to the bioluminescent bay! Very knowledgable on the area around us!

Take bug spray and bring your own food in as the town is a bit of a drive away and eating out is expensive in the town. We spent $70 for a family of four for dinner. It's still worth the stay! It's was so hot but the individual fans kept us comfortable.

Our stay was better than expected. The property is exactly as it states, a tent imersed in the jungle. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We even got a guided tour from their dog. She guided us through the jungle to the beach and back. It was truly a memorable experience.

Being in the 'jungle', there are plenty of mosquitoes, but smoke/incense was provided to help with this.

Fabulous experience of living off-grid. Wilma and Franco were very welcoming, and Franco was kind enough to pick us up from the town when we mentioned we were coming on the bus. Wilma leant us bikes while we stayed so we could cycle into town. The actual tent was beautifully decked out and very comfortable, including mosquito nets for the beds and fans. Franco showed us where to look for the howler monkeys at night, and the following morning, we saw them from our patio! He also made us a fire and reassured us when us city girls were a little spooked by low flying bats! We did the bioluminescense tour with their son Krislay, who gave us lots of information on bioluminescence and had a few tricks up his sleeve, which added to the tour. Fab place, great family. The dogs were also a cute bonus!!

The fact that the toilet is quite a distance away (difficult if you need to get up in the middle of the night to use it) should have been mentioned in the listing. Also the fact that the water in the shower is cold (not freezing, but not heated). I don't think these things will necessarily be a problem for people, but they should be mentioned. I really enjoyed this tenting experience as did my daughter, but my friend was really unhappy about the toilet/shower situation.

Wilma, Franco and their children were very welcoming. We were three women staying for two nights. The tent was spacious, immaculate and had really caring touches, such as a small set of good-quality towels tied in a small package with good-quality soap, pretty rugs, even a special rug set out for the dog and a deck of cards for us. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything from teabags to oil to salt and pepper, and the dishes were of good quality and everything matched. Wilma thought of everything! I really appreciate how a great effort is being made here to recycle and be at one with nature. Two of our party of three took a bioluminescence tour with Krislay, their 17-year-old son, and had an excellent experience. Loved waking up to the very close by growling of the howler monkeys, and then shortly later, the chickens and, of course, the dogs who stopped by to see if they could snag a treat.
