Bungalow was a couple of meters of a noisy road... Don't understand why they gave us the worst place in that respect... We booked months beforehand. The explanation we got was that Booking.com decided what bungalow we got... strange explanation that is difficult to believe.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel, and the staff made it even better with their helpful and friendly service. I must give a special shout-out to Gabriel, who went above and beyond to suggest activities and dining options for us with a smile always on his face. The breakfast provided was not only delicious but also very generous in portion size. While the property was surrounded by nature, which is what I was looking for, it wasn't exactly what I expected as I couldn't walk and enjoy the surroundings as much as I wanted. Despite that, I would still recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Playa Cocles, with its proximity to the beach and many dining options.

It’s about a kilometre walk into town which is not a great walk because there is no sidewalk and it can be dangerous with cars whizzing by.

We liked the decor and the hammock and outdoor area. Over the road from a nice hostel that has a restaurant and direct access to the beach. Lots of agouti animals scurrying around the property. Breakfast was good and staff were helpful and friendly.

Had a problem with our room initially and the staff moved us to a bigger bungalow and provided free breakfast. V quick to rectify the problem which was great

Great private bungalows with wildlife visible in the grounds. Right across from a great beach bar with super food and space to chill in hammocks. Breakfast in the hotel was also great.

For the price paid, I would have liked the stay to include breakfast.

It was incredible to stay right in the middle of the jungle! It was amazing to hear the sounds of the jungle at night and open our windows in the morning to see hummingbirds and agoutis. The windows had insect screens and each bed had mosquito nets to protect you from unwanted guests! The whole place was really clean and inviting.

I traveled with my grandma, and I think it is important to mention that the bathroom is kind of “downstairs” the room, so it can become a bit complicated for elderly people to reach the bathroom. Pillows aren’t confortable at all, but they get the job done. It would be awesome if breakfast could be included in the room price.

Loved the spacious and pretty rooms, with the swing, the wood table outside. A 5 bed room is an incredible option that is almost imposible to find in Puerto Viejo so if you’re a big family, definitely head to Costa de Papito! They even had 2 showers in the bathroom!!! Breakfast was delicious, incredible location and rooms are surrounded by a lot of nature!

It felt a bit out dated. The lighting in the bathroom was very poor. Especially with the shower. When the curtain was closed we couldn’t see anything. The shower pressure was not great either, the staff did immediately rectify this when we asked but it still felt a bit low after they tweaked it. The majority of the room was clean but there was areas (nooks and crannies) that hadn’t been cleaned in ages. There was also a funky smell that came and went in the bathroom. We think it was coming from the drains. A few issues listed above we were disappointed with but overall we did really enjoy our stay.

The garden was fantastic! The lodge was in the middle of the forest surrounded by animals, birds and insects. It was well kept, perfect for nature lovers. Breakfast was great! The staff were amazing! So friendly, accommodating and welcoming.
