To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

GermanyFor using the tab in the bathroom you had to press a button and got a specific amount of water. You couldn't control that, which was a waste of water in our opinion. Windows couldn't be opened completely, they just had the "window slices", that you see a lot around here. The problem was, that you couldn't close them completely as well, which made the loud street even louder...
Very nice staff. They prepared our breakfast earlier, as we had to leave before the official beginning of breakfast. It was a typical Costa Rican breakfast (rice, beans, egg, fried banana and a slice of tomato) and delicious! The room was nicely decorated.

Adjacent cafe serves breakfast between 0730-1100 and snacks/meals during the day. For a few days in San Jose, this is perfect place to stay.
