I wasn’t expecting it to be quite as hilly as it was. Distance to restaurants was not bad just up and down hills which in the heat and humidity is a little rough and the roads are not the best for walking after dark. The beach is a bit of a hike, especially from the beach back up the hill to the hotel.

Beautiful pool and breakfast area. Room was very nice with lovely open aire shower. It is very quiet and tranquil.

Well... I had booked two nights and ended up staying an extra day at this well-run and relaxed place in Carrillo. Vincent and his family gave us a warmly welcome and made our stay very pleasant. Their homemade breakfast is exquisite with the panqueques and jams far above anything (You must try it) The room is nicely decorated and very confortable and has a private terrasse for breakfast, the garden is beautiful, the place is very quiet, and the Carrillo beach is just 350 meters away. But what this place makes really that special are the hosts themselves, they are so friendly and always took time to talk to us although they had a lot of things to manage, they helped us whenever we needed. We'll certainly be back!

Casa Buenavista is a little slice of heaven in Playa Carillo. The owners have created an oasis that is just a walk away from the amazing beach and lots of good restaurants. Vincent is a thoughtful, attentive host and he, Millie and Sabina go out of their way to make each guest feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast is definitely a must and well worth the $12 per person. Can’t say enough great things. I highly recommend and hope to be back soon! Gracias por todo! Pura Vida!

We liked everything!

The property was new, very clean, beautifully designed and maintained, and had gorgeous mountain views. We heard howler monkeys in the evening and morning, and it was within close walking distance of both the beach and some great restaurants and shops!

The only suggestion I have is to have clearly marked shampoo/conditioner/bath gel in the bathroom.

Vincent was very attentive and helpful! He made sure we were well settled and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and a supermarket. When we told him we saw a place that we might want to have dinner, he immediately offered to call and made us a reservation. the breakfast was excellent and well worth the $12 per person additional fee. This is a lovely hotel that I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet boutique experience!

There was simply nothing to dislike. I suppose it would be nice if the property was a little bit closer to the lovely crescent Corillo beach, but a one minute drive, or 5 minute walk.... is no problem.

We loved EVERYTHING about Casa Buenavista. Room #1 by the pool was fantastic; the breakfasts were delicious; the staff was super friendly & helpful; the property was gorgeous.

Our stay in Hotel Casa Buenavista was amazing. Welcome was great and friendly, room decoration was superb, location was close to the beach with an impressive bay an not crowdy. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, was very convenient. Swimming pools were perfect too.

Family run hotel that offered the warmest welcome from the minute you arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel pristine and lovely plants add atmosphere. Breakfast with home made marmalade and cakes every morning.

The only improvement we can think of is putting blinds on the windows in the kitchenette. Because it adjoined the bedroom, we were woken at dawn each morning by sunlight filling the whole bungalow!

A lovely boutique hotel in Puerto Carrillo with two good pools and superb, well-maintained grounds. It is a few minutes walk from both the beach and some excellent restaurants. The room was large, comfortable and immaculately clean. The owners were friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful, sorting out all of our questions and requests efficiently and with a smile. We particularly appreciated the laundry service. 100% recommended.

one excellent steak house close by but not much choice otherwise ( we did not want to take the car at night)

we loved our stay! the bb is super clean and well run, the managers are a close knit family and they do a fantastic job. they helped us find a yoga lesson and offered delicious breakfast. unlimited tea and coffee was appreciated. we loved that it was a close walk to the ocean where we went for long walks
