This hotel is an old fishing village on its own island, and you get a hotel transfer by boat from the dock at the end of the Atlantic road, so a great way to approach the hotel, if you are heading northwards. The short boat trip was an experience in itself. The hotel has its own pub which is very comfy and atmospheric. The set evening menu was excellent, as was the buffet breakfast, especially considering that they were catering for no more than 20 people when we stayed. All diners had sea/Mountain View’s from their tables. Our room was one of the old fisherman’s huts, which has been tastefully modernised, including underfloor heating in the bathroom. You can explore the 5 acres of the island and there are some good vantage points for photography.

Curtains in the room were not blackout, but we still managed to sleep okay.

Quirky and clean, the room was simple but just what we needed. The rest of the hotel rooms were full of eclectic furniture and quite fascinating. There is a lovely outdoor patio looking out to sea. The staff were excellent and very kind and attentive.

The view from the terrace is great! The bed was comfy, everything was very clean. The area surrounding the apartment is private and quiet. The town is about 5 minutes away by car and there are hiking paths just across the street.

Great location in a nice building, smart modern rooms, the price was reasonable by Norway standards. Very near the train station so easy if you’re travelling to the airport - the express train is only 20 mins.

A dog kept making noises and barking next door during the night , the phone in my room to call staff was not operating, I used the messenger system to complain and a member of staff offered to take charge of both issues but did not do it neither wrote in system a reminder for next day duty staff to do it. After I took my complain further next day, the phone was fixed, the couple with the dog left and my dinner was offered as a compensation. However, staff should have taken action the night before about noise, at least. Also my room was not cleaned at all during the 2 days of my stay.
