Positive section of review
Great location in a green residential area outside the centrum of Amsterdam, good public transport connections (bus, tram). Clean quiet room, access to the kitchen and sitting room, I also had the use of the terrace. Nice friendly host, unobtrusive but ready to help if you have questions.
Negative section of review
The mobile network coverage in the whole area is rather weak (but you get free wifi access).

Hostel is located around 15 minutes by walk to City Centre and around 20 minutes walk from Central Station. You can get there also by tram. It's located in a quiet quarter, a few shops and cafes are available nearby. Room was clean and convenient, staff very friendly.

We could hear a lot of noise from the corridor and in bathroom water from the shower was splashing all over the bathroom, but besides that everything was good.

- modern place, very well decorated - big, airy rooms - quiet neighborhood with grocery shop nearby - easy parking - only one key required for access every thing (building, lift, laundry room, parking gate) - nice and friendly staff that was present for us on a Saturday

- not very well illuminated and the spot lights are far in the ceiling and dim (even on max) - minor inconvenience with some broken items (light switch near bed, one of the toilet faucets was not functioning, a cracked sink, one of the coffee tables was broken)

Nothing. Situated in a poor area with lots of traffic and noise from drunks on the street. The only positive aspect is Albert Heijn across the street. The linen appeared as the only clean stuff in the room.

There is no parking apart from an expensive car park in another street. The reception was from a grumpy person. The room had shared toilet - not stated when one books only after payment shown on form. The room was extremely small - no bedside lamp, only ceiling light. Very small window looking onto street. Furniture extremely dirty and worn in cramped corner. Carpets dirty. Shower door hanging on to threads and not closing properly. Bedroom door creaking hinges - poor upkeep. This is by far the worst place that I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in real dumps before - think London's worst where one is scared to sleep on the linen and throw a coat on the bed and then put on all the clothes not to freeze.

Is very closed to Schiphol Airport and train station, the windows are very good quality you don’t hear the noise from airport even you choose a room with airport view.

Ok, I've been here several times, what we find all the times is a very "serious" reception.. I do not recall a single smile provided by the receptionist ever. Anyway the hotel is awesome, 5 min of check in and check out, even if it's not pleasefull, it's not a big deal ;)

Very good breakfast, good location close to the metro and Ziggo Dome, the size of the apartment is good.

Staff at the reception was not well informed (they didn`t know how to suggest to get to the airport by public transportation - they only suggest taxi). Our apartment was not cleanned during the 3 nights and we had to ask for towels. You also need to inform in advance if you want breakfast or not or you will have an extra charge if you decide in the day (not necessary this rule).

I had a booking for 7 nights however due to some personal business I had to leave early and I checked out after 5 nights. I should have received my money for 2 nights. When I checked out and asked for the receipt on the receipt I was charged for 7 nights although I stayed for 5 nights. That was really unfair. I have traveled before and checked out prior to my reservation and received the money back for the nights I didn’t stayed. This was a disappointment and I will never choose to stay at White Tulip hostel ever again. Regards,
