The location is not excellent, but good - it's walkable from the train station even with luggage. We took 2 rooms. The rooms were a good size (the corner room especially) and the bathrooms were good, although from memory they have no door locks. The front desk staff were friendly, and the room price was, by Swiss standards, reasonable and the cheapest on our 7 hotel trip. It had a decent size safe, a chair, and some bottled water - but that was it. In hindsight though, I wish I had paid a bit more. It has from memory, 3 restaurants but we avoided these on principle as we didn't want to give the hotel any more of our cash, due to the sleep disturbance caused by the nightclub.

DON'T STAY HERE ON A WEEKEND! The most basic function of a hotel, is somewhere to sleep. On that score, it failed completely. Just when you want to sleep, the noise starts - a thumping that you can feel in the building's structure - coming from the hotel's own rooftop nightclub and this continues until 3am. Now, noise coming from outside is one thing and can be handled with decent sound insulation but when the hotel itself is causing the noise that stops you sleeping, that is inexcusable. It tells you, that the hotel values its nightclub customers more than its room customers. We couldn't sleep. Our children couldn't sleep. So we only slept once it stopped, and that meant we got up late, and that meant we spent less time seeing this beautiful city. Now, the hotel has 2 joined buildings (you can tell from your room number which one you're in), and we were in the one with the nightclub on top. If you're not in that building, then you may not be affected. It's the building where, if you take the lift to the ground floor to leave the building, you end up leaving via the door the nightclub customers queue at and *not* via the hotel lobby. If you stay Sunday to Thursday, maybe you won't be affected, I'm not sure we only stayed Friday & Saturday nights, and had issues both nights but the Saturday was worse. If you really really have to stay here on these nights, take very good earplugs - like the orange 3M ones - but even then the noise reverberates through the structure and so may not work completely. The room is BASIC. Properly basic, in an East German kind of way. "Functional", but it didn't have a kettle, tea, coffee (small supplies on demand from front desk), fridge or iron/ironing board. It had beds, a TV, safe, and a bathroom and that was about it.

I loved the interior and exterior design of this hotel. Each room is unique. Although the rooms are small, it’s still very comfortable. The hotel is very near the train station and still very quiet. So if you are looking for practical accommodation that’s still stylish i very much recommend this hotel.
