Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ColombiaThe restaurant was closed when we arrived at 9pm. The motion sensores light in the closet with mini fridge close to the bathroom, only stayed on for a few seconds and was delayed when it turned on.
Love the two pools, location on the beach.

PolandWI-FI signal could have been better, but it's not a big deal in this paradise. They do not have AC, but again fan was enough.
Almost everything. Two big pools with stunning views, cleaned on a daily basis. Great staff, very helpful, even though they do not speak english. Not a big problem. Basic spanish will get you everything done. Huge room with spacious closet. Perfect 'private' beach. Only 10-15 minutes walk by beach to town/redtaurants. Sound of waves and birds makes it realy chill place. Loved it!!!

Hungary- Breakfast : very limited options. More of an issue was - as a suprise - that staff was very unfriendly, acting like they do a favour serving you. We really felt uncomfortable…. All over Colombia everywhere we had experienced nice and helpful personell - except here. No smile, you literally have to beg for everything… dont ask for an extra cup of hot water, because they look daggers at you… -noone speaks English, literally no word - Pay attention at checkin on the amount - No hot water in the shower ( we knew this) actually not extreme cold, no issue for us - but good to know - Tapwater not to drink. A water despenser would have been nice… - Checkout time very strict, no slight overtime allowed - power shortage happens occasionally
The location is marvellous - in the middle of nature, having the view of palmtrees all around. That’s priceless. We had perfect view from our terrace. Nice pools. Bars, restauranst start just from the hotel area till Palomino “center” - nice walks on the beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay, because we rate surrounding and athmosphere over other things 😎

DenmarkI have enjoyed four days in Bungalow Mar (the one bungalow with sea view) and it was a paradise. The people working at the hotel are so kind and smiling (if YOU also remember to meet them with a smile and a greeting) - all of them, from the check in at the reception, the cleaning ladies, the handyman, that fixed my safe box and the satellite tv, to the lovely ladies by the breakfast restaurant. My beautiful Tatiana at the reception, thank you for all your help and smiles 🙏🤗 The gardens, the restaurant, the beach terrace are beautiful and with wonderful views of the sea. The pools are well maintained and overlooking the sea. The breakfast was very tasty: fruits, eggs, arepas, juice, coffee, and all served and enjoyed with sea view 😊 The Sea View Bungalow is a paradise! No air conditioning, no glas into the six big windows (only mosquito nets), no hot water in the shower. But who needs that, when you all the time can see and hear the sea, the birds or watch the squirrels playing and climbing in the big coconut tree in front of the bungalow? The big fan in the ceiling and the shadow from all the trees around it keep the bungalow nicely chill. Very comfy and big bed, good blinders for the six windows, good WiFi signal, and lovely views over the garden and the sea when you lay down on the bed. Woke up every morning before seven and started my day by grabbing a towel and going for a swim in the sea. HEAVEN! Short walk on the beach barefoot and along nice bars, surfing spots and some hotels (400 meters) and you are by the main road with shops, cafés and restaurants. Continue on the beach for one more kilometer, still barefoot, and you are at the point where Palomino River meets the Carribien Sea. I’ll miss this piece of heaven 🏖️☀️❤️

ItalyThe breakfast is quite basic and honestly one of the lady who works in the restaurant is the only unpleasant person we met in the whole holiday. She was quite rude so not nice to have breakfast and lunch there. The hotel itself is a bit old and the room would need a restoration. The girl at the check in as well was not the best, we arrived at 9 pm and asked for something to eat as we had two small children and she said no that the kitchen was closed and we had to take back the car and go to the town which is ten min drive. I would appreciate like biscuits or whatever. Not really helpful and nice.
The hotel has a beautiful and well kept garden, it has hammock and a great patio! The beach as well is super super nice!

United KingdomWiFi was a bit patchy but this wasn't exactly a deal breaker. The sea isn't for weak swimmers or young children.
Very spacious grounds and garden for relaxing. Two large pools, plenty of wildlife. Food was decent and generally better than other restaurants in the locality.

United KingdomThe hotel could be amazing but unfortunately a few things need to be improved (especially when having high expectation based on the price we paid) People taking orders/working in the restaurant are not friendly at all. They do not reply when we said Good morning, etc. and never put a smile on their faces. When asking to change one item we don’t eat for a similar item, they refuse and only suggested to remove it e.g fruit for another one. I don’t believe that’s coming from the people working in the restaurant because they did say they’ll have to ask their manager (I understood she’s the director of the hotel) which we met several times and did not bother smiling or saying morning/bye. Please be advised you need to pay a tuktuk 20.000 pesos to go to the hotel because it’s quite far. The hotel - despite having one as well - did not offer and even refuse to help when we arrived at 7:30pm. One tiny bin in the bathroom for 4 ppl - adding one in the kitchen or room would be helpful.
Hotel is great, we got a 4 persons room for 4 days, with a fitting room and a massive bathroom. The hotel has a lot of different places to relax - from the personal area near the room (balcony, sofa) to the hammock area, bar or garden and the sea area (seat etc). The food is great! Although food included in the breakfast definitely has a lower quality than the one we can pay. E.g. the hot chocolate is very watery while the one we ordered later in the day was delicious. The restaurant is clean, food is amazing and not too pricy. Shout out to Will - who’s responsible for the security and Estelle - who’s doing amazing massage!

United KingdomNothing bad about this place at all—10/10 for everything!
Hotel Chiniu ("Hummingbird", in English) is a little peace of paradise on earth! The setting, amongst beautifully-tended gardens and tall coconut trees is a haven for relaxation and the two pools are spotless. The staff are marvellous and very welcoming, and the restaurant food delicious (try the Caldo de Verduras and the Placer Caribeño!).

United StatesWe were unaware that the bongaloos didn't have air conditioning. It made for a bit of an uncomfortable night.
This was our second stay at the facility. It's one of my favorites and by far the best hotel in Palomino. Great location, great pool, great food, friendly staff . They prepared a stunning romantic private beach dinner for our anniversary

United StatesI can't say anything negative about our experience. We just loved it!
Hotel Chiniu was the perfect place for our April family vacation. The hotel is located right at the beach and is a magical place to watch the sunrise, swim during the day, and is safe to walk even at night. We had a room with air conditioning that slept four people, there was one queen-sized bed and two twin beds. The sleeping quarters were separated from the bathroom and shower area which was not air-conditioned but was perfect for drying bathing suits and towels at night. Each morning we enjoyed an included breakfast of which the menu slightly changed each day but included fresh juice, coffee or hot chocolate, a fresh fruit plate as well as eggs and arepas. The hotel staff were very friendly to us and accommodated our needs during lunch times, dinners, sweet breaks in the afternoon and cocktails at night. We also arranged a tour through the hotel to visit the Rio Palomino. The tour company was on time and very professional and our local guide was very knowledgeable about the river. One caveat is we should have brought more sunblock or sun clothing for the long beautiful float down the river. On our last day the sunrise was breathtaking and we were able to get a view of the La Sierra Nevada, and Pico Colon and Pico Bolivar. We also met the owners on our last day there who were very friendly and made sure we knew we were welcome back in the future. We had a memorable vacation and felt so safe and comfortable while there.
