“You stay here for the location and it doesn't disappoint.
The room was very basic but we knew it would be. The outside is covered in white plastic bottles, to keep some of the heat out.
The bathroom is rustic but well equipped. The cleanliness is very good. Like most places, there are no hooks for towels or clothes.
Parking is secure as it is within the premises that has a large gate at the entrance. It was safe but we still had to deploy the overs, as the parrots were rather too interested in the bikes and we feared they would cause damage.
The birds and other wildlife were abundant, noisy and happy to be close by - nice to enjoy breakfast and marvel at some of the birds.
The 1/2 mile walk to the couple of restaurants and bars was a very nice and pleasant walk.
We stayed for a few days and really enjoyed it.”
“This place is hosted by a lovely couple who know the region by heart and give great tips on what to visit. They organise tours to visit the valley and offer a great breakfast. The rooms are super clean and have all the comfort you need. It was a great experience staying here.”

They were happy to make us dinner after we arrived quite late from Neiva. Good breakfast.The pool is a welcome treat after the desert tour. The room was clean and cleaned every day. Villavieja itself is a sweet little desert town, ideal for a laidback, relaxing couple of days.”
“The rooms are not luxurious but have all that’s needed and are clean. The owners are extremely welcoming, and happy to help out with whatever, from activities to transportation. Plus, they were very happy to know more and exchange with me, which made my stay even more worthy.
Highly recommended is the desert tour, and through them you can book one directly with a guide, and shape it together according to what you want. I managed to see parts of the desert that are not normally included in the std tours.”

“We enjoyed our stay in the desert close to nature and the hut was nice for stargazing. Be aware that you will be on a digital detox as the reception is depending on the provider you use and there isn't any wifi.
The food was awesome and the personnel was very friendly. They made us feel very welcome and made a great effort to communicate with us despite our little spanish. We booked a trip to the desert through them and had a great day with a knowledgeable guide who tried his best to speak slowly and in easy spanish so we could learn a lot about de desert - would absolutely recommend it.We also booked a transfer with them back to Neiva and Alejandro gave us some local foods to taste which were great😃”
