Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe room has carpet, not a fan of this.
If you are looking to stay on the bund at a great price this place is for you. Free water and coca cola, but it is an older place so dont expect perfection. Staff does not speak too much english, but we were able to get by. I needed an ATM and they were able to show me where to go. Overall I would recommend and would stay here again.

BelgiumThe rooms have (hopefully) seen better days. The elevator is really scary. Check-in takes a long time as usually in China. Limited toilet paper.
Close to metro (direct line from the airports), walkable to the Bund and most central attractions. Adequate for an overnight stay - overall acceptable cleanliness and amenities for the price. Free drinks were a nice touch.

IcelandThe walls of the apartment could be refreshed, and the temperature of the water could be more stable in the shower.
We liked the location and the cleanliness of the place. Good beds, fridge in the apartment. The staff was really friendly and helpful, answered all kinds of questions. We would definitely stay there may we go to Shanghai again.

SingaporeThe carpet and sofa look old and dirty. The lighting is dim. Saw a cockroach in my room. The hotel is located in a narrow one way lane and the cab drivers cannot find it easily.
Location is excellent, within walking distance to the metro station, the Bund and Nanjing road. There are also many food options in the area. Staff gave me a free upgrade to a bigger room which is a loft unit where the bedroom is upstairs. There is air conditioner in both the bedroom level and living room/ toilet level. The towels and bedsheets are clean.

United KingdomTV didn't work, which is no major issue but needs a mention. Shower was okay once you get the hang of it, but initially it may be tricky to find the hot/cold balance. Internet service needs an uplift, you're better off using an eSim because the internet service is very weak here, and thats without considering China's great firewall.
Room sizes were amazing, and fairly clean, also the shower was good. Staff were friendly, and willing to try their english speaking skills or use translation app as required. They also did a great job of securing us a taxi for our departure. The location is the great, probably the best selling point as it is a short walk from Nanjing Road. From the hotel, you can probably reach the bund in around 20 minutes but the walk is enjoyable if you head to Nanjing Road first. There is also some super interesting backstreets around the location of this hotel, where you can get the best scallion pancakes served fresh. The room had a fridge, was was needed due to the heat we experienced at the time of staying.

AustraliaTaxi found it very hard to find. The hotel entrance is tucked away on a bridge overpass. Carpet was brown and a little old.
Location great for the Bund, Nanjing east pedestrian street and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Free water and soft drinks included. Great to have a 3 bedroom apartment for the whole family.

GermanyThe room interior was somewhat old, but that was still comfortable. The only downside was that the room was the opposite of soundproof. I heard everything from my neighbours including waking up multiple times from the neighbours phone vibrating on the table in the room next to me.
The location is great and very central. Easy to reach from Pudong Airport directly by metro line 2. The bathroom was nice, enough towels and all clean. Room was quite spacious.

RussiaIn winter it's very cold even with the air conditioner + windows are old which is the reason for the wind. I had to sleep dressed. It's the main disadvantage which made 8 instead of 10.
Enjoyed the location of the hotel which is very near the center and underground. Water, tea, towels are provided everyday and it's always clean.
