Faulty power point in room, 1-2 grumpy staff

Fantastic location, comfortable beds, room cosy enough to relax in after a long day of sightseeing, great bathroom (water temp of shower adjusted quickly and water jet was powerful)

My BonVoy points can’t be add on because it was booked through booking.com which is a very common website that I been used for all my work travelling… this trip I been staying in all Marriot but in different cities… thinking that I will get all my points… next trip I will reconsider…

It seems cigarettes smoking is allowed right outside the hotel, which makes entering and leaving the hotel a terrible experience 🙄

Pool area was more for exercise than relaxation. Bar food quite expensive, but not unusual for hotel of this standard. Nothing else not to like, enjoyed it all.

Luxurious, spacious room with great city views. Excellent breakfast with a great choice and fresh food stations. Ideal city centre location. A nice lounge bar on the bottom floor with good cocktails.

Lots of local food nearby and walking distance to famous tourist sites. Though located in city center, it's still has quite sleeping environment.

The number of electricity plug is not enough, the USB charger plug is not available.

It would be helpful to inform customers that deposit is required before checkin so people are prepared.

Very convenient location, under 5 minutes walk to people’s square station and has plenty of eateries around. Room is clean, spacious and quiet enough. Pool, steam, sauna n gym facilities are great.

Even if it's not a priority during a visit, the TV channels and entertainment on demand offer should be improved seriously. The current offer is not at the level of what you can expect from Marriott hotel at international level. Almost no international channels.

The hotel is located near People Square that is a major transport hub for the full city. The location is really perfect for a stay within the busy center of Shanghai and is also very well connected to all airports and train stations with the convenient subway network. The rooms and the facilities are very well maintained and very clean, staff is very helpful and friendly. The noise isolation is really good and you don't hear anything from the rooms around you. Breakfast buffet is great with nice combinaison with Chinese and western style dishes.

The door men weren’t doing their jobs. They just standing outside. He didn’t help with our suitcase when we left and tried to get in the taxi.

Language was an issue as most staff don't speak English and other languages apart from Chinese. There were selected staff who could communicate in English. The weather in April was cool in Shanghai not cold but the Hotels set their Air Conditioning to 22 degrees. Some people like myself felt quite hot since the comforters are very warm too. There are air conditioner controls in every room so each guest can control the temperature to what they are comfortable. But the Hotel locks the limit to 22 even if you set the temperature to the lowest value. They did provide me a fan with water and it did cool a little more but it is not fair since it is inconvenient and not worth the price paid.

Everything was good including breakfast, stagg, location, rooms, etc.

Lovely staffs and of course the location . Near to the hop and off sightseeing bus, near nanjing shopping district, lots of food options, lots of shopping malls so options are endless, near metro etc. would recommend others to stay here.
