Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI sent few emails to this property through Booking and other website before our arrival. None ever replied to my messages. We even thought the place was closed down. For me, this is not very good. I think you can find a better value for money in Beijing for the same price. This was the most expensive hotel during our trip around China, so I was expecting something more. Also this is not a boutique hotel.
The location is amazing. In the old part of the town and a few steps away from shops, and restaurants. The room was OK. There is a kettle but no coffee or tea is provided at all. No Breakfast is available in the hotel. There was a very thin paper door separating the room from the bathroom. Perhaps a traditional Chinese style but not the best option for toilet privacy. The owner is super nice. She doesn't speak a world of English but we managed to communicate using translation apps.

United Kingdomtea/coffee in the room.
the bed was a traditional Chinese wooden carved bed - very big and more comfortable than it looked. Shower room and bathroom were not modern but were very adequate and the provision of sliders for the shower and slippers for the room were very appreciated. It would be good if they could provide some tea / coffee for the room - provided a kettle and mugs but no tea/coffee. It wasn't a big deal though.

SingaporeRooms were a bit packed and had the lingering scent of cigarettes. Not too sure if it was just one room or if they were all like this.
Location was excellent, got to do quite a bit of shopping since there was a market nearby. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well. Especially since we had special requests.

Singapore1) no breakfast option. Should not be a big issue for most but can be challenging to walk to nearby restaurants with 2kids( 4yo and 7yo) in -10 degree winter with snow and ice. 2) local some private hire drivers refuse to drive in, complained that the hutong is too narrow with too many vehicles parked along the side. We had to give extra money to 1 driver at 1am ( took us 3hours to get a ride that snowy night) so he would drive in. 1 driver even dropped me at the main road to walk in with 3 luggages! Local mentioned we were treated differently cos we are foreigners 3) hot water for shower ran out after 3pax and the water temperature is inconsistent ( suddenly too hot and suddenly not hot enough). We resolved it with a collapsible bucket we brought with us 4) the lights in the room are too dim, hard for anyone to read.. No night light, so can consider bringing a small lamp if you are traveling with kids for night toilet trip 5) there was no hotel signage at the door and the door bell was not working ( staff plugged it out cos too tourists pressed the bell to request to visit the old building). Call the phone number sticked at the main door, so ensure u have a local line. 6) dirty floors. The tissues were black when I cleaned up water spill and lots of hair on our socks. 7) towels were hanging above toilet bowl. Suggest to keep towels away from toilet bowl cos not every guest will close toilet lid before flushing. 8) no central heating, the small heater unit is enough keep the room warm but uneven temperature in the room. 9) poor sound proofing. You can hear other guests easily and clearly. 10) limited TV program even the Chinese programs. The TV control is not sensitive so hard to even adjust the volume 11) the toilet is too cold. We have to push one of the heating unit into the toilet during shower.
1) Accessibility. Very near to many shops and restaurants. Many places of interest nearby. 5min to nearest train station 10min with kids/snow/cold. Lots of shopping and good food around. 2) Boss Lee is a nice gentleman who helped with our luggages. Very helpful gentleman. The other staff around may not be helpful. 3) comfortable pillow/mattress and blanket 4) good supply of drinking water provided.
