China only gives me 15 day visa to see this beautiful HUGE country

Loved the staff, the friendliness of the venue. Easy location. Stayed longer than planned. Love how the shower is separated from the toilet.

The bedrooms are smoke free but there is quite a bit of smoking on the premises. It is mostly open air but I am not a fan.

A wonderful spacious room in a very welcoming place. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They can help you with all kinds of questions, about food and phone cards etc The cafe is very homely and has great food. The espressos are excellent. The neighbourhood is perfect. With a farmer's market and many smaller restaurants. I can't wait to come back.

The floor in my room needed a hoover / broom in the three nights I stayed - this would have been appreciated.

Good location - close to subway and areas of interest within walking distance. Large room with lots of amenities - hairdryer, toothbrush kits, shampoo/shower gel, even laundry detergent. Hot water, clean towels, air-con, and water replaced daily. Decent sound-proofing in the rooms, which is so hard to find anywhere nowadays. Nice bar / lounge area - lots of space and plenty on the menu and in the bar. Coffee is delicious! Staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating.

There was consistent noise (maybe the cooler/AC?) outside the dorm room, and the dorm was too packed which makes it too stuffy.

Great restaurant with breakfast options, beautiful courtyard and common seating area to relax and unwind, friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities. Lockers are provided in the dorm room as well as the mosquito repellent sprays and plugs. Can also store your own food.

I have to go to the bath room to wash my hand after finished from toilet. Its good if they could provide a basin so we dont have to move back and forward to wash hand. First night i was at the 4th floor where they dont have any toilet nor washroom, fortunately they allowed me to move to the 2nd fl which has toilet & washroom.which is good.

The staff can speak english😄. And well informative.

The rooms were great, and great value. The social areas of the hostel were excellent. The 8 ball table and table tennis table were fun to use and meet new people. There were several different areas in the dining section where you could hide away or join others as you pleased. There were interesting markets nearby and also an outdoor gym. The people in the kitchen cooked nice meals that were good value.

Somewhat of a haul from Kunming Sth station(from laos) but not far from the main station. The airport is a bit of a haul and is large and security conscious. No stores and restaurants in immediate vicinity. I got lost around the area twice, but a 10Yuan taxi got me to the hostel.

Friendly and informative staff. Excellent coffee and a wide ranging menu at the cafe. Pool table and table tennis table; a terrace to relax on. On a side street but not too far from most places of interest. Some individual rooms but mainly small dorms. Very mixed international and local guests. All facilities; laundry machines and cafe, left luggage, valuable lockers at reception. Cheap drinks from the cafe fridges.

Had two rooms (2 stays), in the first one the shower was really tiny but ok. Second room was nice but noisy due to some fans i think (maybe on the roof - idk)

Someone from my room put the light on after the midnight and was noisy, but that is not fault of the hostel:)

Everyone was very nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the curtain gave enough privacy. The bar with restaurant was cool.

The dorm was really loud and warm. They didn't have air-conditioning.

The atmosphere in the hostel is amazing. There are so many other travelers and because of the large social space it's easy to meet others. The menu of their own restaurant is really Western and good! And the location is in the centre so a lot of things are close by.

The position was quite good, 5 minutes away from the metro station of Pawajian; also there was a food market just a couple of minutes away where it was nice to have dinner. The hostel also offered the possibility of doing the laundry and a nice bar.

I think not having a shared shower and the toilet on the same level as the bedroom (the 4th level) is a bit too much.

Housekeeping is not hotel standard. Its a hostel after all. There is a sort of self service laundry. Some of the floors are getting spongy. Some of the staff have limited english, they warn you of this, they mean it.

it is a hostel, with dormitory multioccupancy rooms and lockers. I had a more conventional Hotel style room with ensuite. The internet seemed strong ( remember this is China and not all is available). So theres plenty of people to talk to, young and old, students and travellers. Good asian and western food, not Gourmet,and a good bar. The hours of operation take a bit of getting used to. Not that far from transport options and shopping. In a pocket of older city buildings. The staff are helpful and obliging.

The A/C had some dripping water that took a few tries to fix, but no real hassle. One night there was a bit of a shouting match (no blows thrown) around the pool table between two Chinese men. It was handled well and no police called. Actually, a bit of an interesting insight to see how it unfolded and was handled.

Nice private room, queen bed. A/C, shower, etc. Very kind, helpful staff who speak English (and some other languages) well. Food available at hostel was good, nice coffee shop / bar as well. I'd take this any day over a 'normal' hotel. Will stay here next visit to KMG.
