Only one restaurant (cafe) open. Both their Chinese and Thai restaurants were closed. Even bar on sixth floor didn’t seem open.

Good facilities. Soft and hard pillows in room. Even weighing scales! Good linen. Coffee and tea making facilities. Good quality towels.

Air conditioning is not good enough.But we got fan when asked.

Breakfast is good but could be better with some more verity. At reception Chris was wonderful host to take care of us and rest of our stay, she is truly amazing.

The breakfast was rather underwhelming and the coffee machine needs upgrading. The coffee was terrible. :( The aircon in the room wasn’t very cold either but they did try to send a service engineer to help repair it. (Other reviewers have already commented about this.)

Great location next to Spring City 66 shopping mall and Dongfeng subway station. Easy access to all parts of Kunming. The room was nice and clean although the hotel is a bit dated. I liked that they offered soft and firm options for their pillows in the room! The rooms also come with universal plug points which is convenient for us. WiFi automatically connects once you’ve logged in once. It was a 15-20 min walk to Kunming Old Town and the rest of the shopping malls. 45 mins from the airport via the subway. Location wise, it was perfect. The staff speak passable English, which was great for us as tourists who can’t really speak Chinese.

Sofa furnishings were a little dated. Guess the hotel is undergoing updates in phases and the shower glass was visibly old and worn out.

Room was clean and comfortable with sufficient amenities. Location was very convenient and right next to a mall. If you're up for a walk, it's approximately 20mins away from 南强老街, which was one of our favourite districts in Kunming.

but one thing is not good for me hotel will stop air condition from 1 am - 6 am, first time i do not know about that but feel hot and feel stress at night time, first time i think air condition not good but staff informed me about that but my health not good i have high blood pressure then need cool weather Staff very helpful they take one cooler machine for me. that is very kind and good.

The hotel is located in a good spot right next door to a 1st class "western" mall. As a westerner i found this to be the most pleasing and familiar feel good factor being next to a mall. The hotel itself is just like any other holiday inn or garden court hotel you would find in rest of the world, clean, modern and comfortable. Rooms are standard depending on the type of room you select. Rooms are fully airconditioned, water pressure is great, bathrooms are modern and well equipped with the basics. I did find the same day express laundy service severely over-priced, We, paid $120 for 6 small clothing items. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Most of the staff are equipped with mobile phones that have translator apps already installed in order to communicate with non-chinese speaking guests. Swimming pool access requires full swimming costume and mandatory swimming cap. Gym equipment is basic and does the job for a quick workout. Overall it was a pleasant stay and i would recommend a stay.

Only unpleasant experience was related to booking the airport dropoff at the front desk. The man on duty said that all vehicles are fully booked (strange!) and recommended a taxi service for 320 yuan. When the taxi arrived the next morning, the driver staged a big drama about how 4 people and bags won't fit in his car and he's afraid of getting his car dirty. In the end, we had to book an additional taxi, as we were getting late. This is really unprofessional considering that I asked the front desk for a car that fits 4 people and 4 bags. However, the girl in the morning was helpful in communicating with the driver.

Nice clean modern hotel. Good location not far from train station and not far from centre. Has to pay extra for breakfast, I thought it was included with booking.com. but it was a very good selection and breakfast.

The hotel staff was very professional. After checked in, we realised that the previous guest smoke in the room, and the hotel change a new room for us immediately. Room is very comfy and location is central with MRT just 2 minutes walk away.

That would be perfect if hotel staff can speak English When we arrived hotel at 2:30 am but Front desk at night shift could not communicate English and he could not find my booking record while my booking status was CONFIRMED. It was ridiculous !! He had attempted to push me reservation to other room reservation which was not under my name.

Hotel location is nearby shopping mall, subway, hospital all in waling distant. My rooms was daily cleaned and breakfast excellent with many food items in breakfast line. The hotel staffs are helpful but some of them could not communicate English.

The air-con was not operating 24 hrs so it's not cool enough especially at night. Hotel staff (front desk) don't speak English so it's quite difficult to communicate. Anyway they were quite helpful.

Not sure when the hotel's been renovated but the interior decoration is good. There's a large department store nearby and very close to metro station.

The location is great. The Dongfeng metro station is on the left, walk about 5 minutes to the station, it is under the Springุุ66 mall. You can take line 6 from the airport and change to line 2 (blue line) taking one stop to the Donfeng station and take a walk to the hotel, very easy. The Kumning railway station is only 3 stops from Dongfeng station, very convenience if you take a train to Dali and Lijiang.

The swimming pool was promoted as a hotel facility but once we stepped into the swimming pool area it didn't feel like it was part of the hotel premises. Everything was only in Chinese and there was a swimming class with an instructor there when we came up there with our 2 kids. Nobody indicated when this class would be over or if we could still use the pool. Clarify this issue for guests.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was completely smoke free, which was very often not the case in other hotels in China. There was no smell of smoking in our room at the Holiday Inn in Kunming.
