Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyComfortable and inexpensive hotel in a good location (close to the station and metro). A big plus is the nice inner courtyard, where you can hang out at night for a beer.

United KingdomThe breakfast wasnt up my street.
The staff were really friendly. The room was great. I only speak English but the staff had special translators that helped when I needed to ask tourist questions. Close to central Beijing station where you can get a travel card.

AustraliaThe location of the hotel is tucked away in the back streets behind Beijing station. We didn’t feel unsafe but it is off the beaten track. Just have your wits about you.
Stayed for a couple of nights while transiting through Beijing. - Staff have limited English but are so friendly, one wonderful staff member even offered to buy something from the vending machine for us because our card wasn’t working. - Rooms small but clean and comfortable, allowed us to check in early free of charge. - Free congee was being offered at the restaurant in the evenings, lovely touch and delicious. - Close to Beijing railway station.

FranceThe only drawback is not really about the hotel itself. I asked one of the receptionist to book a car and driver to go to Huanghuacheng the next day. We used mainly the translator to communicate. From what she said I understood that he would pick us up, drove there and wait then bring us back, without time limit. However at the end of the day, the driver told us that we should pay 100 yuan more for overtime since we had a 9 hour forfait. It would have been nice to have this information before hand, so we could arrange the time at the great wall differently.
The hotel was well located, near Beijing railway station and not far from several subway stations. There’s no elevator but the staff carries the luggage up to the room and down for check-out. Our room was small, very clean. The breakfast was a buffet for 28 yuan with eastern and western style food. There was food available at night (didn’t try it) and free lemon and sour plum water. Our stay was really enjoyable and I would definitely recommend this place.

SingaporeWould have been great if there was an elevator but the signage says that they could assist with your luggage. Would have also been nice if there was a mini fridge as there was no ice making machine.
Conveniently located near the Beijing Railway Station. Pleasantly surprised that they serve free supper and free use of laundry which included detergent. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was also very good and value for money.

RussiaAll is perfect
It is quite basic (but super clean!!), and the vibe is fantastic! It is so cozy, so historic and so much like being in good old Beijing. Loved it! The service is better than in many 5 star hotels. Thank you!

United StatesI stayed at this hotel back in 2016, and it has only improved! The location can't be beat. It's closely located to Beijing Station, subways, parks, markets, grocery stores, etc. The rooms were clean and have been updated to the most modern necessities. It was also quiet at night. The staff were all great and they provide plenty of free bottled water. Absolutely love it here and can't wait to return!

United KingdomThe room is tiny and there is very little space to move and the mattress is very hard.
The property is close to Beijing Railway station. The hotel staff is very friendly and gave us some gifts to welcome us. Laundry facilities free to use and drinks and food dispenser machines in the hotel. They also have a guest sitting area inside and outside the hotel and a restaurant. They keep your luggage after check out. The room was clean with all toiletries and despite other reviews we found it very quiet at night even if it's near the station. It was good value for money.

AustraliaThere was nothing to not like here
With traditional settings and a beautiful immersion into history, this well located accommodation is a great place to stay in Beijing. Only a stones throw (just under 10mins walk) from Beijing Central Station, the place is located close to some of the best restaurants, shopping and markets. If you don’t speak any Chinese you need to download voice or itranslate so you can speak with the staff as they have great knowledge of the area and are really very helpful. The room is spacious with large double beds. We stayed in 4304 on the ground floor, close to the restaurant and common room, with a courtyard for relaxing after your adventures of Beijing and meeting with others from all over the globe who stay there. Read the history of the place and the journalists who were loved by the Chinese people following the Japanese invasion of the mid to late 30’s. The staff here make the place, with all of the restaurant staff accommodating to needs, front of house very helpful and friendly and the food was great also. Be sure to make this your go to for a stay in Beijing and enjoy the amazing hospitality we enjoyed in this great place to stay.

New ZealandThe courtyard is really nice but I didn't want to spend time there as a non-smoker. One time I smelt cigarette smoke in my room. I believed this was coming from the bathroom. The solution was to keep bathroom ventilator on while using the room and the bathroom door closed- problem solved. Don't expect any English language channels on the TV.
I almost canceled my stay due to other reviews saying how difficult it was to find, I'm glad I didn't because this was a very convenient location for me and so easy to find. I used the train/subway from the airport, I changed lines and got off at Beijing Railway Station. Use Exit C. Turn right from Beijing Railway Station and walk along the main road, turn right at the corner after walking pass a bus depot. (The corner has a tall building called China Grain Hotel) walk to the end of that road, you'll come to a police station, turn right and you'll be able to see the hotel. The hotel staff were able to accommodate an early check in- thank you very much. They had a laundry with 2 washing machines, 2 dryers and detergent, free to use. The restaurant had a great buffet breakfast and the menu also had vegetarian options. The buffet was 28 yuan if I remember correctly. Housekeeping staff did a great job in my room but the shower curtain needs to be replaced. There are two small shops in the street you can buy snacks, drinks, beer, ice cream from.
