Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceEven though the hotel is non-smoking, we smelled of cigarettes in the corridor and in our room on arrival. It was a little better later on, but it was disagreeable.
The hotel is situated next to a park and there are one subway station and a few bus stops in walking distance. The hotpot restaurant in the building is delicious and reasonably priced. We dined there twice. Our room has two double beds which is convenient for our family of 3 people to stay.

CanadaIt is not clear that you need to pay extra for the second person even when you book a room with two persons. Bad surprise. The breakfast is just average in comparison with other 4 star hotels in China. The room layout and decorations look old style.
Clean. On-site restaurants.

SingaporeIt was a huge hotel with many guests and sometimes appeared crowded - not enough public seating areas especially when the hail ride waiting time is long.
Great hotel near the Beijing station although we did not arrive through it. Several food outlets located within the complex if you are too tired to walk out for food.

SingaporeAs the self-service laundry room was operated by a 3rd Party, one needs to download Alipay App or Wechat Pay App in order to use. It became intrusive as the APP required lots of information like mobile number, Credit Card and it asked us to "bind" our number and credit card details to the APP. It became such a drag and intrusive that we decided to quit halfway. Some old-school option will be great.
4 things - The location is within walking distance to Jiang Guo Men MTR Station, the rooms were very spacious and clean, the daily cleaning service replace our empty drinking water even though we did not request for a room cleanup. The hotel also had a large gym packed full of equipment, a swimming pool and self-service laundry room operated by an external 3rd party.

TurkeyThe bathroom smell, the swimming pool was on renovation somehow and there was some loud workers. Somehow farther from city you are better off in closer places as a tourist.
Rooms were ok, but old St Regis not renovated. Close to railway and subway about 5 min walk. Good fish restaurant downstairs and good breakfast.

South KoreaThe bathroom has an interesting structure. You open the door and only see the toilet. I was looking for the shower and noticed a glass door on the bathroom wall. You have to open it, and it'll divide the bathroom so that you will only be able to see the shower. It was the first time I saw something like this.
Our room was super spacious, with two big queen beds and plenty of space for our clothes and shoes; there were two huge wardrobes. When we entered our room, I noticed a leak under the sink. They could not fix it, so they arranged another room with a better layout, and everything worked perfectly.

New ZealandBreakfast was cold everyday, heat lamps didn’t help. Reception staff weren’t helpful in helping us try to book sightseeing tours even with google translate, yet I saw a man from reception on the day of checkout arranging to take a guest on his day off fir extra cash to Great Wall. He had told me it was too far to get there we arranged a private driver ourselves after research. Would be great if there was concierge available to assist for that. Our original room was so hot after two nights/5 I asked if they could move us we ended up with a better family room configuration. The air con was set at 24 and it was too hot so that wasn’t great we hardly slept. The design of bathroom was different didn’t really like g he saving shower and too my et in one space and then having a wet floor to use the bathroom. Housekeeping were great.
