From the photos it might look like there is a kitchen to work with, but there absolutely isn’t. There is no stove or utensils. When asked about the kitchen and how we should make our eggplant and other veggies one staff member told us to eat them raw :D

The hot water didn't work one day, and I was already in the shower before knowing. Having a notice about this beforehand would have been better!

Very friendly staff! I enjoyed eating their simple but filling breakfast of bread, ham, cheese, and cereal with yogurt. I also appreciated how well-kept the room was.

The only real downside was the location. It's a bit far from the center of Castro (at least a half an hour walking) if the public bus system isn't running.

The breakfast was really good and the staff were very nice. I also enjoyed having a separate bathroom in the room I booked.

Some people on the reception were not so friendly, but finally we succed.

They gave me a nice, clean and quiet room, accepting to change the first one.

The hostel is a bit too far from the center, which can get annoying (Uber is cheap though and there is also a bus). There is a kitchen, but one cannot cook as there are no stoves. It's enough to make tea, coffee and some sandwiches.

Staff was very friendly and the rooms were spacious and well cleaned. Breakfast was also alright.

The location wasn't great, it's about a 30 min walk to the downtown.

My room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. Parking was available at the rear. The staff were lovely despite my limited spanish.

Staff friendly, very clean and good breakfast, in addition front to the hostal one big supermarket .A little bit far from Castro center 27 minutes walking from bus station, but a lot public transport going over there, colectivos (Linea 8, 7, 6, 4, 77 etc just tell to them could you bring me to the supermarket superbodega Acuenta

Keep in mind that the place is around 30 mins away from the city centre by foot and you will need to take some form of transportation unless you feel like walking.

The staff is awesome, can't complain, they gave us tips, told us more about Castro and the surrounding areas, even drove us to the bus station at the end of our stay! They really made an effort to make us feel welcomed.

They had limited kitchen facilities we could use, just a kettle, microwave and toastie maker, and the heating in our room worked for only one of the three nights we were there so it was freezing, and it was quite a walk from town.

Staff were super friendly, breakfast was repeated and simple but really good, really nice hot showers, beds were comfy and it was right across the road from a massive supermarket which was convenient!

Slick and tidy hotel with rather big rooms, comfy bed, fast internet and good breakfast. Car park has limited capacity though, so its a good idea to arrive early.

Very disappointed with this hostel. A lot of what they advertise on booking.com is untrue. For us we look for accommodation that takes card payment which this hostel states they do under their policies. This is a lie, they demanded cash payment only (in Chilean pesos so we couldn't even get our IVA tax deducted). Other misleading claims include offer of a tour desk (a table with a couple of leaflets does not count) and there was no evidence of any dry cleaning? The facilities (as far as we could see) did not offer a garden (with or without furniture), nor a dishwasher, nor 'streaming' TV (cable only), no invoice offered, no 24 hour key access (access by buzzer only, no access after midnight). Heating was a joke, it was off for the majority of the day and night. As for sound proofing, that was nonexistent. They state (under Property Practices) their 'Environmental' credentials, but there was little or no evidence of anything they claimed. As for our individual room, it was freezing the majority of the time (despite complaining). The bed was uncomfortable and the bedlinen too small. The storage was badly designed, so not much room to hang anything. The shower head holder was broken, so only hand held showering available (and the hot water took ages to come through). The soap dispensers didn't dispense soap or shampoo. The towels were non absorbent, so ineffective for drying. We could hear noise from all around us, and from above and below

The staff were friendly but unable to help us much as the systems were controlled externally by an unseen management (or owner). The breakfast was decent enough with bread, sliced meats, cheese and jam. Also cereals, yoghurt and tea/coffee. It was opposite a big supermarket. Although up a hill it was walkable to the town centre (30 - 40 minutes) and had bus stops very close

a lack of cooking facilities was disappointing, especially considering the supermarket just across the street, wasted opportunity imo.

Nice room and decent enough location, big bathroom and nice enough view from the balcony.

A long list of problems. I found the place uncomfortable, the bathroom had mold, the floors were not pristine, materials were cheap (just like the cost of the hotels), and the walls just DID NOT keep sound out. It was an overall uncomfortable experience and stressful.

I guess you get what you paid for. It was decent, the staff nice and it was cheap. However you get what you paid for which isn't very much.
