Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was slightly smaller than we expected.
Super helpful staff that looked after us so well: thank you Sergio and Cat! There was a selection of fresh fruit, biscuits, coffee, and loose leaf teas available all the time for guests to enjoy. Also really appreciated the water cooler, so fresh sterilized water was always readily available. Breakfast was great, and the garden was dreamy. We really enjoyed having that space to relax in. Finally, the location was incredibly convenient, with many restaurants and shops a short walk away.

AustraliaIt’s a nice small hotel with lots of character in a lovely neighborhood, and all the staff are amazing. The breakfast was delicious, and the coffee/tea station was open 24 hours, although you had to ask for the milk. The bedroom was a good size, with a couch downstairs to relax on after dinner, as well as a lovely courtyard. we definitely recommend staying at this boutique hotel.

United StatesThe sheets were dirty in several spots. See photos attached. The hotel room was unbearably hot. No air conditioner and the fan did not work. Also the room and bathroom were too small to open our suitcases.
Raul in reception was very friendly and helpful. You could tell he wanted to do a really good job.

United Arab Emirates1) Wifi didn't exist in our room, despite complaining, they didn't do anything about it. It's a small house with 4 rooms and yet, the the wifi didn't reach our room. As it was a semi-work trip, it was frustrating to not be able to log onto the net when chilling in the room 2) The heater made weird, banging noises at night. Since it was a bit cold, the heater would be turned on at night (automatically for the whole house), and around 1 am every night, our heater would start making weird clanging noises that wouldn't stop for at least an hour (felt longer as we were constantly being woken up by that). Again, we mentioned this to them, saying we aren't sleeping well due to this. They said they would address it, but the following night, the same thing happened. 3 sleepless nights. 3) However, the absolute worst thing was the customer service of the main day-shit front desk person. We never got his name, because he didn't have a name tag and never introduced himself to us. On our last day, because we hadn't slept well (due to the banging heater), we were late with our checkout, by 45 mins. At 12:40pm, he kept calling us telling us 'to get out of the room immediately'. When we told him we hadn't slept for 3 days, just give us another 15-20 mins to get our stuff together, all he said 'you need to leave right now'. No apology, no modicum of hospitality. Furthermore, when we went downstairs, he said 'please, the key'. I refused to give it to him, so that he would listen to our feedback, which he clearly didn't care about at all, rolling his eyes and looking away. When we told him that at the very least, he could have given us a later check out, since check in is at 2pm, he said 'no, these are the policies of the "hotel" and guests cannot dictate when they want to leave, they must just follow the rules'. Then he just got up and opened the door of the hotel!
We went to Santiago on a quick 3 day trip, and wanted to stay in Providencia due to it's location. We wanted to avoid the big hotels, so decided to stay here instead, even though the price range was similar to the other hotels in the area. At first glance, it's a nice house-converted-boutique hotel in a very nice neighborhood, very close to a lot of parts of Santiago that one would usually visit. That's probably the best part about this place. The rooms were smaller than the pictures, but still nice. The bathroom however was tiny (and looking at their booking.com pictures, they don't have any pictures of their bathrooms).
