Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

TurkeyAlthough it was clean and quite spacious, there were deficiencies in the household items and equipment. This greatly reduces the comfort of the stay. For example, although there was space in the room, a full-length mirror and a sofa were not placed. There is no locker to put your stuff. Since there was no wardrobe, they only put a pedestal hanger to put the clothes. Think like that. A room with just a bed and lamps. Ps: I also requested an extra pillow for my sleep quality since the current ones in the apartment were so thin. There were only one pillow for the each guest. ( I mean there were only 2 pillows, very thin. We were 2) They rejected that saying it is imposible and mentioned that this is the first time they got feedback like that. Their attitude was not solution oriented.
The location is so good that you can even walk to the main train station in 30-35 minutes if you want. The apartment is quite spacious for 2 people. It consists of a kitchen, a room and a bathroom. And it was quite clean.

I had to wait almost 30 min outside in the street freezing to receive the entry code. Even if the police do this to people they can be charged and be accountable. Totally nonsense.

NetherlandsThe room wasnt clean, there was a condom on the floor, garbage on the bed. We also had another room booked with them. In that room it looked like someone peed on the walls. It also looked like people thrown things against the wall. The was underwear on the floor. They tried getting another accommodation for us, but when they failed, they basically told us there was nothing they could do and we just had to sleep there. We had to book another hotel and it took us 2 weeks to get our money back, because they wouldnt respond to booking.com.
