The bells during the night are a little disturbing, but understandable given the monastic setting. Garden facing rooms could be a bit noisy at night in the summer due to people sitting out eating - but this stops at a reasonable time around 10 pm so this is not a big issue.

Unusual and attractive monastery setting, large rooms, clean. The restaurant is expensive but the food quality is good and matches the price, and reflect Swiss prices in general.

The rooms were very nicely done. The facilities was also very nice to walk around in. The Dinner was excellent and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Great place to relax.

I wasn’t really sure if eggs were included in the breakfast or not. I ordered scrambled eggs and the server asked for my room number, so I assumed they were charged to my room. However, upon Check-Out there was no charge. My suggestion: Some clarity about what additional items you can order and how they are charged, would be good.

I liked how seamlessly the hotel is incorporated within the monastery. It feels new and old at the same time. I enjoyed this aspect a lot! Furthermore, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was delicious and the rooms were maintained very well.

One should be prepared to get waken up by the bells if sleeping with windows open (but it adds to the charm!)

A very nice and spacious hotel in the building which used to be a monastery. Several nice hikes starts literally at the hotel. The breakfast is delicious, with a lot of choice and with an amazing Bircher muesli. The staff is very friendly.

Considering the fact that the place was a Benedictine abbey, we understood why there was no TV or room service. And while my wife was not happy with it, I was totally fine.

The place was perfect for a weekend getaway for the family. And while the room was spartan, it was quiet, comfortable, and clean. Also pleasantly surprised that the room had its own toilet and shower. The in house restaurant was the highlight of the trip. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, especially for our six-year old son. The menu was excellent.

Picturesque location in a hilly Swiss German village. The historic hotel building is absolutely beautiful & has been lovingly maintained to a very high standard. The room was very generously sized with a very comfortable bed and top-quality bedding. The bathroom was a bit smaller than we would have liked but nevertheless perfectly function and clean! The buffet breakfast was very good with good quality bread, cheeses and cooked meats. It even has its own brewery! What was amazing was....how quiet & peaceful the rooms were......even when the bells were ringing!

Bathroom is a glass 'box' in the room, not great if you are sharing the room (e.g. if you turn on the light in the bathroom in the dark it lights up the entire room).

Hotel is in a quiet, green spot. Very good breakfast, nice room. No tv in the room, which was actually nice for a change.

Pretty much nothing.

I rarely call the stay in the hotel exceptional, but it is one of those few cases when it certainly exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located in a very serene location and the whole stay was very calm. The building is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and there was absolutely no noise. Also, the Wi-Fi worked very much better than in many Swiss hotels I visited. The breakfast and the restaurant menu are quite simple, but food is tasty and well-cooked. Overall, it is a perfect place for the calm retreat.
