Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCouple of finishing touches would have made it excellent. Lack of tea/coffee and milk in the room was a disappointment despite a kettle being there.
Location is absolutely stunning. Car parking availability very helpful. Nice sized bedroom.

The location is amazing! Just a bus ride away from Lauterbrunnen, it is very quiet and relaxing. There is a cable car, just next to the hotel, leading to Sulwald. The restaurant at the top is also very good. If you do not have a car, the bus takes you directly from Lauterbrunnen to the hotel, it is very easy to get to. The view from the balcony is so, so beautiful! The room itself was quite big and the beds are comfy. Would definitely recommend for a quiet stay close to Lauterbrunnen!

United States of AmericaAll was well with our stay. Two notes for future guests. If you want a bottle of wine it is much less expensive buying in Lauterbrunnen (next to gondola station) than at the hotel. The road up to Isenfluh is a little challenging, especially for larger vehicles. It is mostly single lane with a long tunnel - but it adds to the experience!
The perfect place to stay in the Lauterbrunnen area! The room was clean and very functional, great patio off our room with fantastic views, host very friendly and helpful. Food very good. We loved everything about our 2 night stay. We also took the small gondola by the hotel up to Sulwald which was a fun short trip. We walked 1/4 mile to right and found a bench with great view!

GermanyStaying at the Waldrand every year at least once. First in may. This time it was the eight round. The view is magic, ok if the weather is fine but you cannot influence the weather :-) The Waldrand is a good base for tracking innto the mountains or, if the weather is a little bit wet, for excursions to interlaken or the Beatus caves - ask the Manager for hints, he is very helpfull and supportive. My next trip to the Waldrand and the wonderfull Berner Oberland are scheduled :-)

The breakfast was fantastic - a full assortment of breads, meats, cheese, fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea, juice… at a reserved table for you each morning. Ronald went above and beyond. Pictures don’t do the views justice. The hikes are unbelievable. The room was practically sparkling. The terrace is gorgeous and gives an incredible view of Eiger and Jungfraujoch. The village is quiet but offers accessibility to adventures. Dinner at the restaurant was the best meal of the trip. We ordered Cordon Bleu-Rustico, Rösti with 2 fried eggs, & apple streusel for dessert. The tunnel to get there is not bad. It is technically the width of one car but 2 can go through if someone is coming the other direction. We had no issues at all! We stayed from May 4-6th. It was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

United States of AmericaThe owner (or I’ll assume he was), Ronald was such a nice man. Truly a delight - especially when we almost didn’t make the posted check in time due to delays in flights. Then each morning at breakfast greeting and serving us with such a bright attitude. The place was so clean, food at the restaurant was great.

SwitzerlandTo reach the hotel there is a long winding road up to the hotel. If the restaurant is closed (Monday and Tuesday), you have to drive down to get dinner. There is a bus but it stops running around 18:00.
Nice big rooms that were clean with a very comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful view of the mountains. I would definately stay here again.

United States of AmericaThe bed linens and bath towels could use a refresh to be softer materials.
The location was a pretty scary drive up the mountains, because it was foggy and a snow storm all the days we were there but Mr. Ronald showed us what the view should’ve been and wow! Mr. Ronald was a great host to us and tried to do everything to make up for the less than favorable weather we experienced.
