The breakfast was just as good as nicer hotels that we stayed in while traveling in Switzerland. It was our first time staying in a hostel. It met our needs.

- Ease of access: no lifts to get to room one floor up, otherwise fine - Warmth/cool: no fan or aircon in room. A bit warm at night even with windows open in June. - Check in: Long line to check in. It took about 30 mins, despite having completed the online check in process prior to speed it up.

- location: great location close to Grindelwald terminal - WiFi: WiFi was good - Bed: comfortable - Shower: shared bathroom facilities were clean and always available. Never had to wait. - Other facilities: shared communal area had microwave available for heating up food if needed. No fridge. - Noise: quiet, did not disturb us - Luggage storage: happy to hold our luggage prior to check in - Cleanliness: property and facilities were clean and well maintained. - Breakfast: included in price which we were grateful for. However, very simple breakfast and not much available.

The hostel is located a short walk from Grindelwald Terminal station, and a short 15-20 minute walk into town. Immediately outside the hostel is the cable car that takes you to the Jungfraujoch cable car. Theres also a small Coop supermarket inside the station. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm which was comfortable, it had lockers (need a 5 CHF coin which you get back), and a sink. There’s washing facilities (5CHF for wash & 5 for dry). The breakfast was amazing, truly excellent start to the day before hiking etc. Staff were great & very helpful. the Bar & Grill was open on my final night and it served tasty food and drink. Keep in mind the check in time is when reception desk opens! So if you turn up at 1, expect to wait around for a couple hours.

Uncomfortable bed and pillow. I don't think they even cleaned it after the person before me because I found hair on the bed,a lot..so that was strange. The first night I arrived, I didn't have a locker and they gave me a token at the reception for another locker in another place. Which means, I want to take a shower, I have to go around the hostel to get my things and so on, which seemed absurdly funny to me and they were not helpful at the reception, so a big minus in that regard. I was lucky that the guy from the room left the next day and left the key on my bed. The showers were not cleaned. Likewise, after 9 p.m., there was no one at the reception, so I had the feeling that I was working there, considering that I was explaining to people where and how to get to the rooms and where their check-in cards were.

I can only tell from the room I was in, but the doormitory was not that great. Hardly any ventilation with smelly hiking shoes and sweat being prevalent. The top bed had no protection barrier from falling and was almost against the ceiling.

For a hostel, an amazing buffet breakfast! Fresh ingedrients and much choice. Staff were very helpful and kind.

The dorm room didn't get cleaned during our stay. Also there aren't kitchen to use. It will be perfect if the guests are facilitated to cook.

even though I enjoyed my stay here there are some things that would have made it easier - fridge / hob - plugs at every bed - better/ spare pillows - the bar / grill being open more often

The top bunks in the rooms are difficult to climb up/down as they have very little head-room. Would also be good to add a little shelf and charging port for the top bunks. I think they should take some of the head-room from the bottom bunks to improve the situation a bit, I appreciate space is limited

Spacious common area with plenty of seating, and free (shabby) pool table. Clean rooms and plenty of toilets/showers, all of which were pretty much spotless. Excellent transport links and a supermarket nearby in the terminal. The breakfast is phenomenal too

some things you should note - a single bathroom is shared for the whole floor (>10 rooms), you have to be prepared to wait if someone needs a long time. The shared bathrooms in the basement have dim lights which can get quite dark and creepy at night. Room was quite small for two luggages and the room lights were quite dim as well. if youre prepared for these things its still a comfortable stay.

service was exceptional! staff were extremely friendly and they would come to help if you looked like you were struggling. location is really near grindelwald terminal so convenient. breakfast had a great spread too!
