Great location. We were here to take part in Ironman race. Hotel is close to train station and to the start/finish line of the event.

The air-conditioning in my room didn’t work and it was unbearably hot at night, so that I couldn’t sleep. Also the shared bathroom sometimes made life difficult and very inconvenient.

The location was perfect for my needs.

Hotel is modern and very minimalistic decoration. The location is great. Very central. Breakfast was really nice. Good offer of bread and cheese, coffee, juices and some cereals.

Close to the station and all the facilities of Rapperswil. We stayed with three young children and they loved it too! Room and facilities were clean and breakfast plentiful and delicious.

No View & Limited Privacy as room looks out onto walls of adjacent building and windows are directly facing those opposite, had to keep curtains drawn throughout stay. Room was quite hot & stuffy in summer but there's AC so not a big issue. The bustling town square got rather rowdy on weekends but closing the windows helped to shut out some of the Noise - light sleepers might need ear plugs.

Hotel conveniently located in main square of Old Town, walking distance to most attractions such as Rapperswil Castle, Lindenhof Deer Park and Capuchin Rose Gardens. Single Room was clean, spacious and simply furnished. Hotel has Lift which is much appreciated when staying on higher floors. The kind lady at Reception spoke fluent English and was most helpful with providing sightseeing & travel info.

1. there was a spider in my bed under the blanket when I came. 2. tooo low ceiling, hit my head several times over the wooden balks 3. a bit expensive, but the personnel was veeeery good and helpful

The single room was basic with no view. Usually I would say get a front facing room of the square but at the moment it seems that extensive work is being carried out at the Church above the hotel and they are using the square in front of the hotel to deposit rubble into a skip. Really loud during working hours , started at 8 , so I wouldn’t suggest a front room at moment. will be ok when completed I guess. Also the mattress was uncomfortable , seemed quite thin. Breakfast basic but fine , all you needed really and attentive service.

The hotel is in a square in the centre of old part of the town. ideal position near restaurants shops and lots of interesting things to see. Had some food in the restaurant , it was busy and the food and service was good. Had a side facing room that looked out over the wall of the building next door. Reception staff really nice and friendly which was a real positive.

There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel, I am confident that if there was, it would have been corrected immediately.

We loved the friendliness and attentiveness of all the staff. The position of the hotel is perfect, Rapperswil has a beautiful historic old part and Hotel Jakob could not be in a better position. The hotel has some quirky contemporary elements and decor that make it a fun and interesting place to stay. The lunch and dinners were exceptional, the cocktails were magnificent. However, there are so many superb restaurants that you can easily walk to if you want to change scenery.

The service was excellent, and very friendly . The manager and front office personal were reall friendly,helpful, and provided some good tips about Rapperswil. I was given a kettle and some tea bags for my room... this was a wonderful plus. The restaurant looked very busy in the evening, which was a good sign. And breakfast the next morning completed my opinion that I`d made a good choice in staying there. On checking out, I knew,.. I`ll be coming back.Thanks again for the great stay.

I found the room quite bright even after we closed the curtains and didn’t know that there are shutters outside on each window that we could have used. A note or a sign would have been good.

Great location, right in the heart of the old town. Simply furnished but clean and modern room. Lovely views over the main square and of the castle. Comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Really nice restaurant.
