Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesThere is an additional fee that you need to pay in order to use the kitchen. Like 100 CHF is I'm not mistaken.
The location is around 400meters from the station. Really close to shops, church and main road. The family suite is located at the ground floor level.

AustraliaNo lift and small staircase made it difficult to move luggage, even if on ground floor there are still stairs to navigate from the street. WiFi would often not work. On arrival, staff had closed up for day from noon, left all the rooms keys with people's names just in public area. Pillows were very flat
Fantastic location, easy walk from train station. Good pricing compared to most of Zermatt

AustraliaThe room was very small and lighting was a bit too dull for me. The building was old so the floors creaked a lot when other guests moved around on different floors, but it was quite a bit cheaper than other hotels. Only tea, no coffee.
The view of the mountains. The balcony. The kettle in the room.

NetherlandsNo lift eventhough the hotel has 4 floors. If you don't ask for room on the 1st floor when booking it and you have a lot of heavy luggage, you have to carry your luggage all the way up to the 3rd floor...
Clean and the facilities are good, a bit noisy due to the location near the church at the centrum. Host is very nice and there is luggage storage which you can still use after check-out

New ZealandJust all the steps, we were on the third floor!
Beautiful village, lots to see and do. The hotel was crammed between 2 other buildings, and only accessible by lots of steps. We couldn't have dinner in the restaurant as it was fully booked. Room itself was small but comfortable.

GermanyThe (most) famous bar in town is just across from the hotel, so ear plugs can be handy if you want to sleep with the window open to get fresh air. A bit more detail from the hotel about the self check-in procedure would be helpful (we did have to wander around a bit).
Excellent price/quality ratio for our 1 night stay. Communication from hotel was good. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking Bahnhofstr. Breakfast was nice.

MalaysiaIt is a budget hotel. we came during peak season, so hotel prices are quite expensive. No elevator (quite difficult for senior citizens) and breakfast is not a buffet style.
The location of the hotel is very strategic, close to the Zermatt train station (just a 7-minute walk to the hotel). The hotel is also close to the Viewpoint Matterhorn (just a 2-minute walk).

United KingdomNo reception or staff on site, I knew this when booking, but didnt expect to arrive to FULL NAMES on a page at the front door WITH ROOM NUMBERS?! Then keys are hanging on the wall beside the list! This is absolutely crazy! A booking reference should be used instead of guest full names!! I was worried someone could be in my room when I opened the door. I could hear every movement of the people in the rooms beside me - the floor boards in my room moved when they walked, I woke up thinking someone was in my room, but it was my neighbour going to the toilet! Very disturbed sleep. Bar noise from the main street until early morning, but this is to be expected on a Saturday night.
I came for one night to ski for the weekend, and this hotel was a great find in such an exclusive resort! Fantastic location, lucky to have a top floor room with a balcony and view, breakfast was standard, single room small but adequate for a solo traveler. It is great value if you want a basic stay in a beautiful place. Sitting on the balcony with a view and being able to watch people in the street was fabulous. Restaurant on the 1st floor was busy and convenient. Clean despite the renovation works. Room was a comfortable temperature despite it being -10°C outside.
