Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDirections to find it from the station. Arrived in the dark.
Room with stunning view and balcony to contemplate it. It snowed heavily so in the morning it was magical. Great location for visiting all the local peaks by train and cable car. Lovely attentive staff, and a good wine list. A great find.

SwitzerlandI thought the breakfast was great but there could of been slightly more sweet options but this is just a personal preference. There was a little of everything.
I really enjoyed the vibes of the hotel and loved the spa facilities. The fine dinning was an amazing experience and all the staff throughout our stay (especially Thomas) went above and beyond.

GermanyJust to nick pick for the sake of providing a balancing comment; Perhaps the breakfast buffet can show a little better variety, although it was absolutely sufficient and adequate.
Absolutely amazing property and staff. The view was gorgeous. The hotel is of the highest quality of service and amenities. They have invested in the best materials and resources which was evident from the furnishings.

United States of AmericaNothing really, everything was wonderful. Switzerland is pricey, so if you're gonna go, you need to reconcile that everything costs 200 chf, and everything takes an hour to get to. If those are barriers, then consider another destination. This hotel was not the cheapest, and it didn't feel that way. The service and facilities were top-notch. You get what you pay for. And in Switzerland, you're gonna pay, so to us, it was worth spending a little more and getting a lot more out of the experience. Tschuss!
Great location, and value for the cost. Higher end than a typical hotel. Informative staff, who were all super friendly and interested in our good experience. Easy to reach train stations. They recommended a bus, but both Grindelwald stations were only an 8 minute walk, so no need for a bus. Oh, and great views from the room.

AustraliaDidn’t realise when booking we didn’t have access to any of the spas with the Geodesic domes until checking in. These are private for the higher end rooms. The general shared spa was still nice but not as photogenic.
Beautiful rooms, clean, renovated and amazing restaurant and helpful staff.

SwitzerlandIf you want to go skiing, you need to plan a bit around the bus times. The local bus to the Grindelwald terminal or First station runs only once an hour. The hotel offers a shuttle, which costs 10 CHF per ride.
The Glacier is a very modern, yet cozy hotel with amazing views to the Eiger (one of Grindelwalds mountains). Both the casual and the fine dining restaurant serve delicious food. One of my personal highlights is the 150 wines they serve by the glass. The main highlight of our stay though was the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, extremely attentive, always up for a chat and joke. We really felt like home in the Glacier and this is definitely not the last time we were there.
