Location, location, location!!! It is right next to the lift, perfect for an early morning ski or snowboard. Also walking distance to restaurants and train station.

Too many people in town and a little noisy in the morning from outside as people go with their ski equipment early to the First gondola. But that’s not the hotels fault.

Nice breakfast. Really liked the muesli made with blueberries and yoghurt. Nice rolls and bread, cheeses, cold cuts, yoghurts.

There was no toothbrushes provided. Not sure if its a culture here in Swiss but thats fine. Not a big fuss actually. Stairs are a little narrow if you are carrying big and bulky suitcases. The sound of your neighbours might be quite loud as the rooms are all very near each other. Please note toilets are shared but the condition of the toilets are totally fine.

The service staff was excellent. They were very helpful and we appreciate all the help they have rendered.

The room was very small, no room for a stretch. The space was kind of confusing. Hard to find the way to locker and laundromat.

It was clean. The bathroom was very well design in such a limited space. I love the hall and dining place a lot, feels premium for a hostel.

I appreciated the fact that they give you a visitor card good for discounts in different activities and transport, however I very much disliked the fact that they give it to you only once you enter your room: I went on the First Cliff Walk that morning by paying the full price ticket, only to realise the card the hotel gives you allows you a discount (and my check-in was obviously in the afternoon, after I've done that attraction already and according to what I had planned for my holidays I couldn't use that card in any other way unfortunately). It'd be nice to be informed of this card in advance or maybe give the visitor card in a digital way before our arrival, like other hotels do, so that we can actually use it or plan everything properly and ahead.

I went for a comfy little room with a shared toilet/shower. The window from my room offered a lovely view of the mountains and a little garden. Breakfast is rich and vary. The old style look of the room and the hotel was really nice.

Air Conditioning

The breakfast was good with a variety of foods. We loved the location because of the proximity to Grindelwald First. For the summertime, it would be nice if there was air conditioning in the guest rooms. However, overall our stay was Excellent!

Location is perfect, right in front of the cable car entrance up to First mountain.It is also where you return the mountain bike if you are to do the activity. Room is decent size, although it is a shared bathroom but it seemed just myself using the bathroom during my stay. Quiet room.

Security was my concern: There were multiple doors to get inside the house-but there were no staffs onsite 24-hr You just have to trust the safety in Grindelwald.

to get there, you have to take a steep walk from train station no elevator. more description abt the room can be given. there’s no hair dryer in the room that i thought it can’t be offered. but then the other day i spotted a hair dryer at the reception. reception operate in a short period of time, so you better ask everything in advance.

the staff is super helpful and nice. the breakfast is kinda nice. the room is comfy, the shared bathroom is clean, has great space and looks really nice.

The building is quite noisy, You can hear everybody waking up, talking or packing. Also you can hear people down the streets since it is around a popular sightseeing spot. But it is something that can't be helped. Therefore you should take this in consideration. Earplugs helped my a lot.

Too soft pillow, small shower box, too dim light, and they should have better instruction for guest, since we found drain hole w/ leftover in pantry for 3 days.

Some communication problems led to a delay in recess package I had sent to the hotel. Although the one staff member I interacted with was kind and helpful, it seemed communication was a bit inconsistent between staff. The fact that there is no staff on site after 3pm also makes it hard to get assistance in the evening. The building is old and although everything was clean, my single room had a musty smell to it.

Location was close to many attractions, but it was still a quiet place. I loved the garden and all the places to sit and enjoy views of the mountains. Two common rooms were also convenient. Basic, but good selection at breakfast. Compared to other places in Grindelwald, the price is pretty good for a private room.

My room was close to the stairs. I could hear constant noise of people walking up and down.

The view outside of the window was stunning which really delighted my day.
