There was only one plug in the entire room and it was by the front door, up high, which made it difficult to charge multiple things at a time. There was an additional outlet in the bathroom but that was far from the beds. The bathroom is in desperate need of updating. The sink and toilet were an orangey color from like the 1960's and the shower curtain was so long it blocked the water from draining in the shower (though they shower pressure/temperature was awesome actually). This was a 10 minute UPHILL walk from the train station so keep that in mind.

We loved being so close to First and could literally walk out the front door, take a right, and get on the gondola up to First! No kidding! The room was a larger size and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was typical but nothing too exciting.

Great location right at the station up to "First", walkabIe distance from the train station, close to restaurants and shops. Charming old, spacious house, nice rooms and amenities. Very good breakfast, don't miss it ^^

When leaving the staff didn't allow to take a coffee as "we had checked out already", quite fussy and small minded.

The curtains to our windows were too thin, I think people walking-by can see the inside of the room, especially at night. There were only 2 power points in the room, another in the toilet. Hair-dryer and iron(also ironing board) are shared across the whole hotel, hence access to the items are limited.

Good breakfast with selection of espresso-based coffee and variety of juices, staffs were friendly. Rooms size was adequate. Location was right in front of Grindelwald First, Gondola Station. Bus station for both direction are right in front of the hotel.

We stayed 2 nights in December. Our rooms were quite cold even with the heater turn on to the max. It would be great if heating for the rooms can be improved.

We notify the hotel that we are only able to check in after 8pm. They prepared and envelope with our name with the keys and guest cards. The staff even stayed back to ensure that we receive the check in instructions. The hotel is right beside the Grindelwald Firstbahn cable lift which brings one up to Grindelwald First. About 10 minutes walk from Grindelwald Train station. The view outside the hotel was great.

for our breakfast the next day, my friend and I requested to have the takeaway version as we had to stick to our itinerary plan and had to leave early. upon realising that we did not have to leave early and that we could stay in the hotel for our breakfast, we decided to get some other food and drinks from their buffet spread but were impolitely told off by one of the staff that we need to pay for their breakfast because we already requested for their takeaway version. we did not pay eventually, after some negotiation which was nice of them. but we felt that the staff could have communicated in a better way, instead of talking to us so rudely and demanding that we have to pay for their breakfast.

when i checked in, the staff at the counter was very welcoming. super convenient for those looking to go to grindelwald first. rooms were super cosy as well. gives off the japanese vibes.

The lack of television in the room was a little bit frustrating when the weather wasn't very good.

Great location with comfortable beds. Our room felt a bit separated from the rest of the lodge which was great and allowed us to come and go as we pleased. The breakfast was basic, but still good and provided us with what we needed.
