Switzerland is very expensive as was the stay for the night. To be fair Christmas markets had just started and it was a weekend but 50 euro for a hostel seems a bit excessive. Though easy, cheap and good food is less than a 10 minute walk away at the local grocery store. I had a chicken, tomato lettuce and mayo roll for dinner

Awesome experience. Prison Doors are still in and is so cool to see. Close enough to the train station and very comfortable room. I always believe bunk beds should never be more than 2 tall and they adhere to that. Super friendly staff

There's no moisture extractor in the bathroom, it got really humid. We didn't know how to control the temperature in the room, so we opened the window until we we're okay with the temperature. The bunk beds are tight (small rooms) you do need some mobility to get on the top bunk.

The employees are incredibly nice and helpful. Great location, lots of open areas outside. The rooms were clean and worked nicely, the heated floor on the bathroom is nice. The kitchen and co-working spaces are nice as well.

Super cool location and very novel stay. Old prison doors and walkways very fun to walk down. Bathroom was modern, bed was comfortable, however if taller than 180cm bed length may be an issue for rooms with double bed/private bathroom

It is slightly more expensive than other independent apartments available on the same dates. The kitchen and community room felt out of the way and it would have been nice to enjoy some of the bustle of the ground floor but this was dedicated to restaurant users and felt out of bounds to guests. Some soft furnishings or ceiling fittings might help to reduce the echoing in the hall ways later in the evening when people return to their rooms.

We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality conversion of this ex-prison into a Hostel. When booking we were worried if this place would be comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. The shared showers and bathrooms were very good, always hot water and excellent water pressure. The staff were so happy to help with local knowledge and ideas for trips out and directions etc.

The elevator was unfortunately out of service when we were there.

I liked having the restaurant/coffee bar. It was exciting staying in a prison for the kids. It was secure. The community room was awesome and the insight into the prison history was interesting. It was very clean!

BE CAREFUL about breakfast. On booking.com it just said that there would be a breakfast for a small fee,, and then the price of it. I was looking forward to getting breakfast, but in the morning when I came down to the reception, I was told that I would've had to book it in the guest app under the section "Upgrades" the day BEFORE?? No where on booking.com did it say this, and it was very disappointing. The guest app is also just a link, and not actually a real app, so when you book a bit of time in advance, you don't think about that link, when everywhere else, you can just pay for the breakfast when getting it, if it isn't included that is. Just know, that if you want breakfast, you have to book it at least the day before. And to the staff, PLEASE do make your guests aware that if they want breakfast, they HAVE to book it the day before online. Other than that, everything was great.

The location is magnificent. The mountains, the town with all the old buildings and then of course the former prison. It was a very cool experience to sleep in a room, where criminals ones had to sleep. I love how much of the old prison is still visible. It was clean and nice. A little bit expensive for a hostel, but of course it is Switzerland and you are paying a bit for the experience of the old prison.

Only booking accommodation in Chur on the day we planned to stay meant there wasn’t a lot on offer. But Bogentrakt exceeded our expectations. We took a private room which was great value for money, had everything we needed and was far cheaper than other private hotel rooms in the Old Town. A very short walk to restaurants, cafes and also not far from the cable car. Staff were upbeat and happy to recommend great restaurants! Do stay here if you’re a bit of a crime fan as the hostel had write ups on the history of the prison and prisoners scattered around the place.

Lift is broken - so if youve got luggage be prepared to carry it via stairs It will be good as well to have a mat outside the door of the shower room.

I stayed in a female dorm type room and weve got our own toilet and bath. Wifi is good, bed and pillows are comfortable, the curtains gives you privacy. Just a bit cautious with using the toilet - as it is beside the other bunkbed i feel like they will feel the noise whenver you flush 😐 Near the date of your travel they provide details to do online checkin and a video for the direction from train to bogentrak which is really helpful.
