The chek in hours are a little odd, 'cause they close the office from 12pm to 5pm, so if you arrive between those hours bring your own padlock and try to find someone from the staff and ask if you could use the "day lockers" to store your things in the meantime

The mixed dormitories are exactly what you'd expect of an HI hostel. Beds aren't terribly comfortable, people are coming and going, but that's par for the course at this price point.

Common areas were very pretty, kitchen was spacious, quiet hours were carefully observed. Neither here nor there, but even in January the place was crawling with surfers

people were doing a lot of noise after 10-11pm, and the walls aren’t soundproof.

It's a hostel, not really a "Guest House". Once you get past that, it's fine. Price was high for the accommodation received but I guess that's Tofino.

Communal kitchen is very convenient and well equipped. Five star view from the dining area. The beds are quite comfortable. Shared washroom facilities weren't overcrowded apart from the Women's at peak times

Room was extremely expensive for being a hostel. I paid $550 for one night and the room only had beds and a bathroom which is quite expensive for the limited amenities

Anyone driving just needs to be aware that they will charge you to park your car here, and they were quite adamant that everyone had to have their own designated parking space so we all had to play musical cars on day one. We booked this accommodation with the impression that it was a guest house but it was more of a hostel. We were extremely surprised to find out that there were only a couple of other travellers staying as the accommodation was mostly booked up with a school group- and we thought our school days were over 10 years ago! Although they were relatively well behaved they seemed mostly unsupervised and did make some noise in the evenings/early morning. Customer service wasn't the best as the lady on check out was quite rude to us and we also witnessed her being rude to another member of staff.

Whalers on the point is in a great location, within walking distance to everything you need and a short drive to local beaches. The room was comfortable and there was a fully equipped kitchen with everything you needed and you could enjoy your breakfast in the morning overlooking the beautiful bay.

The location is superb, accommodations were cheap and cheerful, staff had their stuff together. As a broke university student, I give whalers on the point 10 outta 10. Keep it 100 guys, COME VISIT TOFINO!

Is far away from the beaches if you don't a car. But if you rent a bike you can make it to the beaches.

I requested motorcycle parking for 2 bikes well in advance. We were charged $5.30 for the parking spot but were told by our check in attendant to park underneath a fifth wheel trailer on uneven pavement which sloped to the left. They did not provide a proper parking spot. My motorcycle fell over and received some damage. They did not seem to care. No effort was made to make amends. They reluctantly agreed to give us a different spot for our motorcycles. Two of the female guests sharing our room were extremely arrogant and rude. The male guest was kind and considerate.

Clean room with a comfortable bed, towel was provided. Clean and tidy bathroom and shower.

The view from the hostel is absolutely gorgeous. Close to everything downtown, and the facilities are so well kept, clean spotless! The beds are comfy, clean and you’ll meet cool people for sure
