Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaA group of us flew into Vancouver for a design conference and we used the conference suggested hotel (the Fairmont downtown) which was quite disappointing for the price we paid - for the last night we decided to switch hotels (Fairmont) due to poor sleep (no air conditioning, loud locations and cold showers ) and went to Georgian Court. It was so fabulous, we had regret to not have booked it for the entire stay. Now we know. :) It was quiet, comfortable and the rooms were perfect for a good nights sleep, and the employees were very accommodating and friendly. We will all definitely stay here again.

United StatesOnly thing was the sink made a constant dripping noise…we just closed the door to the bathroom at night. Did let the front desk know upon our departure. Parking was a bit pricey but understand all the hotels are about the same.
Jose at the front desk was very helpful and was very friendly and genuine!! Gave us ideas for what to do and offer any assistance we may need. Close to restaurants and attractions too! Room was clean and fit our needs well.

AustraliaLate one night our door was opened by other guests with their room key. Upon staff investigating we were informed by Day Manager that in theory it was our fault as door hadn’t closed properly. All 3 of us were pretty sure we double checked door however, if technician said we hadn’t we didn’t dispute. My issue was how the Day Manager didn’t seem to acknowledge how upsetting it was to have someone enter your room whilst sleeping and just kept implying our fault. Although she offered a discount it wasn’t our intention, more that security be looked at. Overall the staff were helpful but definitely tainted our stay.

CanadaCouldn’t figure ôut how to make coffee maker work. Needed to use key in elevator going up and down. Remember to drop keys off in car park after checking out as needed key for elevator down to parking.
Parking only required that we drive down the ramp push a button to enter. Once checked in our room key opened the garage. Front desk informed us that it would be best to stay parked because of full hotel due to Stanley Cup game across the street. Walkable to Gastown, Chinatown, waterfront and excellent dining. Jazz music in the hotel lounge. Lobby comfortable and bright. Fresh new linens. Big bathroom. Glass wine glasses. Real coffee cups and saucers. Filtered water and ice in the ice room with carafe. Recycling bin system. Hotel manager greeting.
